When braking hard in the stock GM and Moonhawk, especially from highway speeds (or more) to zero, the front suspension tends to permanently deform in some way. (Have to reset to fix. etc.)

It seems related to this, though all Moonhawks are affected now.

Afterwards, when steering to full lock at rest in either direction, the front end of the car drops.

Above 112 mph, it's likely that the GM's front wheels would be permanently moved too. (27 deformed beams, 0 broken. Photos taken at rest.)

With the GM in particular, sometimes the bodywork in front of the rear wheel arch deforms as well. Repeated high speed stops will push it further into the door.

The GM sport and custom sometimes last more than one stop without either issue popping up but it'll happen eventually.

the bolide resonates during fast acceleration. There's something odd happening.

I cannot replicate this bug :/ I can stop fine from 100+ mph with no damage to the car (Grand Marshal and Moonhawk)

Also the Bolide does resonate for me as well. Kind of funny :p

I updated again just to be sure but it still happens though. :p

Perhaps there's a more recent dev-only version with changes to the physics engine or JBeams?

According to the changelog, mine is dated '5th July, fix for Bolide rear suspension thingy...'

Well, we've changed some stuff since then, so we'll see...

i just tested it @ 160mph , that stuff at the front suspension only happens with normal wheels. but the deformation on the back still happens then. id suggest its something about hardware when only certain people have it
i have a gtx 660 and an i7 both at stock clock speeds
    -Edit-
Also ,got that boat to 190mph/305kph.doesnt change much though

If the physics calculations changed that drastically in regards to technical specifications we would have a major problem.

Also relating to this bug. The problem is that the wheels "resonate" so violently that it even deforms the body

In this photo I am driving straight, no steering whatsoever. Since Gabe cannot reproduce it I can only hope it's fixed :)

not trying to threadjack, but already saw this posted here..and thought why make another thread. I too have a problem with the drive shaft breaking.

I like to derby, and with 1 or 2 small hits the GM stops moving and the motor just revs away..

Trying to fix this, but it's not easy at all. You have to choose between top speed or smooth braking. The V-beams that give good top speed and reduce rolling resistance are what make the tire stiff and shake everything apart in braking. There are no compromise values where I can get a bit of both, either.

As for brake distance: the Moonhawk is stopping from 60 mph in about 140 to 150 feet, which is perfect for a car from this era with crappy tires and no ABS.

    Ah a reply.
I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with my shit computer messing with perception of the game with below-shitty fps. :)
I haven't had any problems with the front suspension on the gm though. The only one of these I've notched is the rear door wheel well deformation thingy, and that was only after blasting around dri for a good half hour. That's the only time I've seen any of these problems.

Just managed to fix the rear door deformation by adding a beam :)

Also I've found a decent compromise with tire tuning/weight reduction and brake torque/ABS tuning to get the shaking down and make permanent damage much more rare.

I made a new thread regarding the drive shaft breaking from applying the brakes. My bad, but yeah, I'm also having this issue

I though this would be a better idea than a new thread, but yea I have found a bug with the Grand Marshal were the drive shaft snaps when using the D-15 5 speed manual transmission in conjunction with the welded diff (although its seems they break way too easily with all of them) and this happens with or without engine tuning, although it is more easy to do so with it. The main reason I noticed this is because the drift missile uses all of these parts and when swapped into a standard Grand Marshal the same problems occur.
