Planes, helicopters and explosions (the shock wave mostly)?

    will you be able to models plane and helicopter with the same deformation as the cars? also can you model a shock wave, to see what that would do to your physics engine?

    Presumably, you will be able to make every vehicle possible with good deformation. However, complex vehicles like a helicopter and such would then take up an astounding amount of Frames. (Would be a great task for Lifter, but is he on this game yet?) Also, I don't know if a shock wave can be implemented because the game engine, CryEngine, may not be able to do so. (Or at least that is what I think)


    But where are you expecting to have explosions? :)

    Helicopters and explosion shockwaves were possible in CryEngine 1, planes are a bit tricky,as no CryEngine games had them.

    I'm pretty sure that explosions and shock waves will be included. They're very much simple default entities included with the game engine.

    I beg to differ. All that you would need to add to this game is an airfoil simulation, we had one in RoR. wasn't terribly realistic because it only simulated the lift applied to the wings but it worked and planes and helicopters weren't massively complicated compared to gabester's cars.

    im not expecting explosions, but would just be cool to see the effect it would have on a car, also tank would be kl

    Shockwaves in Cryengine 1 , 2 or 3... doesn't modify the terrain , are just particles ... you can say that , the things blow up , but you can see that , the walls and the trees doesn't change his form ...



    Cryengine 2 have planes :) In Crysis 1 , in the first mission a big plane appears ... Also in Warhead they are the V-TOLS :)
