I’d like to propose a new idea for a mod in BeamNG.drive – a Cessna 172 with advanced, realistic physics and a fully interactive cockpit. The goal is to create a highly immersive flying experience, with attention to detail that would appeal to both casual players and those who enjoy more technical, realistic simulations.

Here’s an outline of the key features:

    • Realistic Flight Controls: The aircraft would include fully functional ailerons, elevators, and flaps that respond to player inputs, just like in real-world aviation. These controls would offer a dynamic and true-to-life flying experience.

    • Interactive Cockpit: The cockpit would feature detailed, interactive buttons and switches, including the magneto, ignition switch, and other important controls. Players would be able to interact with these elements to start, stop, and manage the aircraft’s systems, which adds to the realism of the experience.

    • G1000 and Analog Instruments: The plane could feature the modern G1000 avionics system, with an option for analog gauges as well. This would give players the flexibility to choose between a high-tech, digital cockpit or a more traditional, analog setup, depending on their preference.

    • Advanced Physics: I envision flight dynamics similar to those in the B25 Mitchell, offering a highly realistic experience. The aircraft would react accurately to speed, altitude, and control inputs, making for an authentic experience during takeoffs, landings, and everything in between.

    • Functional Doors and Windows: The Cessna could have interactive doors and windows that open and close, adding another layer of immersion during both taxiing and stationary moments.

    • Realistic Damage and Flight Behavior: If the plane is involved in a crash or a hard landing, it would show realistic damage, with the wings, fuselage, and control surfaces deforming in a way that mimics the severity of the crash. Additionally, the propeller would stop, and the plane’s behavior would change based on the damage.

    • Propeller and Engine Mechanics: The propeller could be animated to show changes in RPM, and players would feel the effects of engine power adjustments. If the engine were to fail or malfunction, the plane’s behavior would reflect that.

    • Interactive Flight Systems: Features like autopilot, trim controls, and fuel management could be included to provide a more detailed and immersive flight experience for players who enjoy managing the technical aspects of flying.
This would certainly be a challenging project to develop, but it seems possible with the right tools and collaboration. I believe this mod could add a lot of value to the BeamNG.drive community, giving players a more detailed, realistic, and immersive flying experience. It’s just a suggestion, but I would love to know if there’s interest in developing something like this!

If someone takes on this project, I would be so grateful that words wouldn't be enough to express my thanks!
    :)
