Passing gear is on automatics, for when you're cruising on highway. If you go over 95% Throttle (I think), The transmission will downshift 1-2 gears for better acceleration to overtake or speed up.
what about skipping gears. Going down hill the transmission jumps up a couple to keep up with the transmission.
The tranny as it is its way too basic, i do agree. Actual trannies have more realistic woman-like physics and know when you need power and when not, to be able to chnage to the gear you need, using the vacuum of the throttle body.
Don't say trannies. It means transgender people where I live. Not that I have anything against them. Just say transmission
Car culture it is very common usage. I understand not wanting to use it as a transphobic term, honestly I do, spent enough time holding best friends hand through the start of his transition. But car scene, its transmission and even that friend (who ain't a car guy) gets it without offense --- Post updated --- It isn't a joke though
Guys, this post wasn't for a transgender argument, I was wondering if the 53 burnside has it, it wasn't working on only the burnside.
All the cars have it. Gabe just put fairly lax shift points on the cars so that they don't hunt for gears to much. You were probably going to fast for kickdown to occur.
Technically it is there on the burnside, technically. Its never going to trigger though, the stock burnside is only a 2 speed gearbox, it cant do 60mph in first gear so obviously its never going to kick down. Specifically its ratios are 2:1 and 1:1. Its shift points: "lowShiftDownRPM":1200, "lowShiftUpRPM":1800, "highShiftDownRPM":1900, "highShiftUpRPM":4200, The alternative is still only a 3 speed gearbox at 2.54, 1.53 and 1:1 ratios. Shift points are same as 2 speed.
Actually it originated as numbers as a name, but i get autodetected as a bot on a few forums for that
