I just got parallels for christmas so i could run windows as a virtual machine in OSX and out of curiosity, i ran BeamNG AND IT WORKED. SO WELL. Granted i have a total of 16GB of ram in my Mac Book and have up to 8 allocated to parallels.... BUT... This is a nice, convenient, stable, and completely comparable way to run BeamNG on a mac! Its not real cheap, but it definitely has more uses than Drive - - - Updated - - - compatible*
Bootcamp will run it a lot better. But... I am curious. What are your specs? What settings are you using and what's FPS?
Performance wise crossover would be it too, but doesn't have the 100% compatibility with windows software you get from windows in a VM.
I already had bootcamp but I was tired of rebooting constantly. So parallels runs windows from my bootcamp partition instead of as a separate OS mid 2012 MacBook Pro, 2.3GHz intel i7, 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, intel 4000 integrated graphics 1024MB, OSX 10.9. And I average about 50 FPS with any vehicle. My main point is that now I don't have to reboot anymore, and I don't have to worry about overcrowding my windows partition as much.
My friend has that exact same laptop, but has it's with the same intel graphics, with a Nvidia GeForce gts 460m and really wants beamng so how much is parallels?
its normally $80, but right now its $60.... like i said, its not cheap... but you're buying convenience over the long run, especially if you're running bootcamp
