The Vehicle Selection and Config Menu are extremely slow with Game running which makes creating Configs and Tuning them a painful Process.
It does improve a bit with the Game Paused.
    Any Help?

    Windows 8.2 64bit
    8GB Ram
    GTX850M
    i7 with 3.2 GHz Overclock

Not the most powerful Machine but the Game runs smoothly otherwise, it's only the Interface that sucks.

I may be the Millionth Person asking that Question, went back a couple Pages and found no other threads on this though.

I've actually been finding the same thing, really annoying how slow the UI is compared to the actual game. I can run the game with next to no physics lag whatsoever with 2-3 cars, but the UI is almost unusable. I have to pause and unpause the UI to get anywhere.

We have not been able to reproduce such issue on any kind of machine, even of the worst one you can think of.

How many apps do you guys have on your UI?
Too many apps could overload the UI system, making it crawl.

    UI normally runs at 20-25FPS.

is that i7 a dual core, or is it a quad core.
If you set the UI Process Priority to above normal it will run faster, but it will allocate less CPU time to the game, also drop BeamNG priority from High to Normal.
(Priority changes can be done by going into Task manager and going to details tab, then press the CPU to order the processes with highest CPU usage (most likely BeamNG) first, then rightclick on it and set priority, (also you can change affinity (the cores the process can use, but dont change this on Beam because it is not just car physics (there are shadows and other stuff). Only change affinity if you are using an old non multithreaded game)

I'm sure for many slowdown happens, when hitting ctrl-E, ctrl-W or when going to select UI apps, menus open slowly, mods slow down this very much.

Another thing that slows down is CPU load, especially on some custom maps that have a lot of objects.

With fresh install and only vanilla content there is not so much of slowdowns, but Ctrl-W starts to be bit slow with this setup, showing all those parts takes time, I'm totally running out of CPU power from Thread 2 here, my peak CPU load monitor shows how it is peaking at 100% constantly, also Thread 3 is occasionally spiking at 100%, not sure why it affects listing of parts speed though, but maybe that runs on Thread 2 where graphics related stuff runs, those cars are with extra two spot lamps added, that setup kills any CPU on the planet probably:

First time opening menu, panel, etc. is always lot slower than opening after that, under some situations it can be more than an second to open.

Mods affect of course as every time opening parts list or vehicles, it has to go trough everything to know what to show up and those will make UI very slow.

Few times I have experienced UI to be updating something like 1fps, without any proper reason.

After I did clean reinstall of BeamNG, I haven't put mods in and UI has been very fast, so I would guess it would be worthwhile for people having this issue to write up number of mods they have.

All is well until I use the UI, the Game is still smooth but the UI is barely usable.

I had the same problems when I had my pentium, with my new I5 it's fixed, so it's probably a CPU problem I guess?

A lot of apps in there. That could be contributing into that.
Many apps will make the UI require more resources, and so on.

Although, so far we were not able to replicate that issue on different machines (from high to low end).
Perhaps some programs messing with the game (There are a few that are problematic with the UI already, I wouldn't be surprised if others would make it crawl)

Have you tried to reduce the amount of apps? (for example, either return to default or keep only 2-3 apps)

CPU makes a difference, since the UI runs on it mainly.

    A few things:
    - I wouldn't worry if one core is working more than another. Seems quite common (in general, not BeamNG only). I keep seeing that while doing anything, in any program.
    - The first time you open any menu is always slower due cache. Like your browser cache, also the UI has a cache. It gets generated on the first time you do X. If you do X again, it will happen faster due it being already in the cache.
    - Yes, mods can affect loading time of menus (ie. loading thumbnails, information, and so on)

As you can see my CPU is not the Problem. Neither is my RAM.

Yes, but as you can see from the rest of my message, there may be more going on.
Do what I said in my message, at least we can see if the amount of apps is actually doing something for you.
