DISCORD FOR UPDATE PROGRESS https://discord.gg/Re7x4PfK -----Im not a Lua programmer so my progress in coding is slow as im learning, but i don't plan on abandoning the mod because i love music and audio equipment and its a passion for me and there are very few if any subwoofer mods out there so im trying to provide. It is only [PAID] until i can afford to replace my dying Gpu which im not looking for a ton of money for the newest Gpu so if bought a few times it shouldn't take long to become free.I understand that paid mods are a nuisance and no one really wants them but this is a passion project for me so it will have updates frequently.
do these subwoofers output sound? if not, i don't think people would buy a simple part for a car that's just there for looks
The only mods that add sound are already made I'm making cosmetic parts I'm sure plenty of people will want it. Radio Mod For Sound---- Zeit Radio (The Zeidio)
i don't think many sales are going to happen unless its under 1-2 usd --- Post updated --- especially with the promise of free later
Im trying to link my Boosty page cause yes its only 1$ I don't want to make a bunch of money just trying to replace a dying gpu
Charging even just 4% of the original game's value for a few colored vertices using a subscription model sure is something. This is the deep low-end of consumers attempting to be capitalists. These models aren't textured and barely pass as cartoonish. A word of friendly advice. If you're looking for an effective way to replace your GPU, perhaps consider a job. These devices tend to be really expensive nowadays. Money and purchases will speak for themselves, but I do think it's worthwhile to pay for content if there's genuine passion or effort behind it. This feels rather empty on that end. It's a good idea to give proper attribution to the original artist, even in promotional artwork, to ensure that you comply with the license agreement.
As long as you don't implement the zeit radio into the mod, but rather as a working add-on, i dont see any problems with it being paid (If this is obvious then i am sorry, just wanted to hop in with a friendly reminder) You do make some good points, but cut the guy some slack, it's probably his first mod and also it's his decision to make it look cartoonish or not, beamng looks to a degree cartoonish itself - Have you considered the fact he might already have a job? Paid mods are mostly a passive income source, if the job you're working isn't paying enough on the regular. I understand the criticism and agree with it to a certian point, but i do think you're being a little harsh, especially for someone as new to the forums as you are (welcome to the forums on that note)
Cool idea, has good potential. Would be sick if you could make a toggle and when its turned on it vibrates the shit out of the car lol
Well i do have a passion for it that's why I'm doing it and I'm trying to implement actual sound into it I'm just learning Lua and its difficult i just know 3d modeling rn. Also they are textured my gpu is just dying so play at low settings. Plus i cant get a job do to severe mental health issues that's why i'm doing something i can do to make a little money. Also the gpu im looking to get is only 150 dollars i don't want or need super high end.,
Perhaps. I don't see how me being new to the forum has any relevance to my point, but while I was trying to make my post sound neutral to an extent, I now see that my approach was primarily negative in nature. I understand if I failed to make it sound helpful. To transform it into something more constructive, OP, consider adding standard PBR texture maps to your models, like the original model has. Also consider adding audio sources and model animations like others have suggested. This will make them more attractive to purchase and easier to justify a price in general. For a decent source of freely licensed textures, try https://polyhaven.com/. There's other sites available, too. For information on how to implement these, there's plenty of tutorials available online. I still believe it might prove challenging to save up enough for a GPU in a reasonable amount of time from these assets. This isn't really the place for this conversation, but if your job is failing to offer you enough to put some money aside, it could be a better time investment to simply look for a better offer. I don't know your particular situation and I don't wish to turn this thread into a conversation about finances, so I'll leave it at that. Thank you for the welcome.
Thank you, im trying to add some sort of compatibility with the radio mod to add lower frequencies to the songs when you have a subwoofer active. I'm also trying to add a vibration but right now its a learning process for me and the subs are just cosmetic for now. --- Post updated --- Thank you for defending the mod and me. im' trying to add some sort of compatibility with the radio mod to add lower frequencies to the songs when you have a subwoofer active. I did model everything except for the placeholder speaker you wanna see my 30 blender files showing i did lol
Ok, I believe you, but such a small thing doesn't make any logical sense being paid, the reason being it's a very small niche addition to the game. Also why'd you remove the link to the sketchfab model?
1. It's strange: people are complaining that this mod will be paid for. But it would be obviously very easy to resolve by not buying it. I conclude that everyone who has something against the author's payment strategy just wants this mod for free and isn't able to do something similar by himself. All this bad-mouthing is just to satisfy one's own greed. Logic. Clear and obvious. 2. To make the vehicle shake, I wouldn't use the music at all, but rather one or more rotating eccentric masses whose speeds fluctuates around 50 to 100rpm. It will show you what kind of damping and resonance frequency the suspension of the respective vehicle has. It will definitely be very exciting to drive around with it - LOL. For now, you just would have to check whether Zeit's radio is there and whether it's playing or simply don't care for music at all and call it "the Shaker"... Good luck for your project and I hope your life situation will become better soon !
