Online REPOSITORY Improvement

When Using Online Repository to download mod in-game, we can download mods that only in Mods category. Not in Forum -> Mods category.

This is the only way that Cloud Gaming gamers like Geforce Now can play mods in Beamng Drive. I hope the online Repository feature will also improve the mods in Forum to be downloadable.

 

Drag and drop the mods you download into mods, then repo folder.

Welp sorry I don’t know how to do that because I actually play beamNG on PC.

 

As far as I know this isn't a feature for legal reasons.
As the repository is also an in-game feature, it is a part of the BeamNG.drive and BeamNG.tech products. If another company's copyright is infringed on by a mod on the repository, BeamNG will be held liable for it and could be sued.
On the forums the user takes responsibilty for their uploads and would be held liable for copyright infringement.

But a nice suggestion is that feed system (rss like). So if OP updated their non repo mod, notification is made. Manual downloading is still needed tho

 

Because the repo only allows certain types of mods. Mods that directly modify the game's internal files (which can break them if not used with caution) won't be in the repo. Also, real-brand cars cannot be published on the repo. BeamNG by law cannot propose real vehicles on their interface. So if the forums would be accessible from the repo, this law is no longer respected.
