Hello everyone, I'm having an issue where some vehicle mods (including the Oldsfullsize mod) seem to "freeze" if a wheel is damaged. The car will drive normally, but if a tire is damaged it enters a suspended state where the engine rpm is stuck, the controls will not work, and the tire sounds are looped. Upon resetting the car, if the windows are smashed, they will not reset. The car will still be in that frozen state. Does anybody else have this issue?
It happens because devs have added a new parameter for wheels called "slidingFrictionCoef", there's no default value for it, so old mods without a slidingFrictionCoef value for their wheels will be broken when you damage their wheels (or tires)
No this is not a new parameter, if this was the case then every single mod would be broken, this parameter has been in game for ages and it has been used on wheels for years too. They just changed the behavior of it and somehow that breaks the mods for some reason, not sure how
This is what shows up in the console if the tire is damaged. setting slidingFrictionCoef to a number value doesn't change this outcome
yea I cleared cache and disabled all other mods. It's something related to the way that tire popping is handled. My walkaround is to use wheels from beamng instead of the mod wheels.
