Odd DCT behavior?

    I notice in DCT transmissions, the clutches will disengage under braking which is expected in an automatic or DCT in auto mode, but shouldn't it stay engaged if the DCT is in manual mode? I am not totally familiar with how computer-controlled transmissions behave so it might be intended behavior but I am just curious.

    Check in the game settings with "advanced settings" checked off, I recall seeing something about "Throttle assist" and "Clutch assist" so perhaps one of those is causing that to happen? Not entirely sure, however.

    I will have to try later, but cluch assist should only be for true manuals (the ones requiring a clutch pedal to operate) because the ECU controls the transmission in a DCT

    Well if you're in danger of stalling, the DCT will do everything to keep the engine running. This happens in all modes and gears.
    And no, the clutch assistant does not have any effect here, that's just for manuals.

    You are correct. I tried it in my car today (dodge charger 8spd auto with paddles). normally i make sure never to miss a downshift when stopping but i noticed when i did not downshift, it disengaged the transmission until i stopped slowing down, then re-engaged into the highest gear it could be in.

    If you are driving an actual automatic it doesn't really matter due to the torque converter anyway. A DCT has a fully rigid connection between gearbox and engine, while a torque converter is a viscous connection that always allows slip without additional measures. :)
