Since update 0.4.1.0 I have experienced a lot of nvidia windows kernel mode driver crashes, the game freezes, than the screen goes black for a second, comes back and gives the message that the display driver crashed and has been successfully restored. This randomly happens on every map with every car, in free mode and scenarios, sometimes after 10 minutes and sometimes after one hour of playing. I googled it and it seems that a lot of people have this problem with a lot of games, so it don't think that Beamng Drive is causing this per se. I've also tried some solutions like different drivers, setting the power usage to max performance, disabling vsinc, changing ingame settings. None of them worked. Since Beamng Drive is the only game I have this problem with I was wondering if somebody aslo has had this problem and found a solution for it. My GPU is a GeForce GTX 650.

I have a GTX 770 2Gb and I have the same issue, it's just sometimes it will happen every 10-30min on Beam... my graphics card has these bad days where it does these things, the hardware seems to have become unstable...

Funny thing is that beam agitates it more than any other game.

    I've had it happen in

    Project cars
Rare but can happen after 30min-2+hrs of gameplay
    [Breaks the game]

    CS:GO
can happen every 30min during a match really annoying but never actually got me killed:p
[Makes your screen go black and you stop moving until it recovers of which than it is as if nothing happened]

    GTA V
[Think it happened once in the 100hrs I have played]
[can't remember what happens after it recovers]

    Off Topic
Can't remember having it happen in other games to recent date, havn't been playing much but Beam and CS:GO.

When my wheel gets fixed I'll be playing more games:p

Okay, I clicked on another window while in windowed mode and got this one...

..That's a new one... ...well for me anyway.

    Killed my blender....

I had the same issue on my GTX 780, that was with driver 362.53, I updated and that fixed the issue for me, so you could try updating the drivers.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running a GTX 580 in combination with Windows 10 and since the latest patch, I cannot play for more than around 20 seconds.

At first I thought it was due to some software, which I started using recently, called TrinusVR (Android app that let's you "stream" PC games to your phone screen in stereoscopic 3D). It requires a server app on your PC and seems to integrate into the graphics driver. While I was installing it, it also gave me the "Graphics driver stopped responding and recovered" error. I uninstalled it since yesterday and I thought that maybe there were some leftovers inside the driver, causing these crashes.

    I've done some tests though:
    - Downgraded my graphics driver to version 353.30 (coming from 353.62), used the following software to perform a clean install: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
    - Downgraded my graphics settings inside BeamNG.
    - Unplugged any controllers
    - Verified local game files through Steam
    - In an attempt to get the TrinusVR software completely off of my PC, I did a clean reinstall of Windows 10 and installed the latest (353.62) NVIDIA driver again.

None of these options helped solve the issue, so the problem must be on the BeamNG side. I did notice just now that my game crashes much faster when I make a hard turn which causes skidmarks / smoke from the tires. I CAN drive straight for a while.

    Edit:
I've just tried to play the DX9 version on Steam. I can play for a bit longer and make skidmarks / smoke when I turn the car hard, but it still seems to crash. Only difference now is that I can still continue to play after the screen blacks out for a second.

    Edit 2:
I noticed that I've been playing in Windowed - Borderless mode (I usually play in Windowed mode because of easy alt-tabbing). I tried playing in fullscreen mode (v-sync on) and the game now works as normal. I played for a good 15 minutes without any crash and I did revert back to the DX11 version. I have no idea why Windowed mode doesn't work for me or why it causes the driver to crash... Maybe it helps any of you who experience the same issues.

I currently have the latest driver for the GTX 650 (353.62) installed, i also tried older drivers, that didn't solve the problem.

I went from windowed to full screen mode, I also lowered the resolution a bit and turned vertical sinc on, I've played for about 30 minutes yesterday and it didn't crash.

    Lets see how it goes.

    Edit:
Still no luck, I can play for about 20-30 minutes until the game crashes.
I also tried setting the "engery saving scheme" to high performance instead of balanced.

In an attempt to play at full screen today... I still got a crash after around 20 seconds. This time I not only get the message that the driver has crashed and recovered, but I also keep seeing the BeamNG crash report window now. So it seems to crash in a slightly different way.

I sure hope this will be fixed soon, either by NVIDIA or the BeamNG team. I have no clue where the problem lies.
