You can scroll up on your mouse wheel to increase the strength.

EDIT: You must hold CTRL and hover over a node, then use the mouse wheel.

Trackpads implement the mouse wheel in different ways. Often you can slide two fingers on the touchpad. Sometimes they have a dedicated area on the right inside the touchpad, to slide one finger for scroll. Your laptop manual should provide more information on how to use mouse scroll functionality.

Some laptops don't support scrolling on the trackpad at all. I actually own one.

The nodegrabbing strength can only change by using the mouse wheel (or equivalent).

If @RichieXtheXboss has not changed the default bindings, and is having troubles with zero strength nodegrabbing, then it means he has some way of triggering the mouse wheel scroll functionality in his computer, even if he doesn't know how to.
