I was just scrolling through Beamng.Tech when I came across this post regarding a new driving setup for testing. The thing is, in the picture shown there's the screen with a first person view ride on what looks to be the cherrier but.... In a new Highway map!! Now at first I thought that could either be East Coast USA or River Highway, however, East Coast does not have any double lane roads, and yet it does not look like River Highway as for the lighting, tree models and not even the road signs! If anybody is capable of decrypting that sign make sure to post it here and let me know if you think that map already exists or not!
The highway sign clearly seems to be a German one: (for comparison): It would also make sense, as BeamNG is a company based in Germany and the German Autobahn is famous for not having a speed limit
TBH it kinda looks like the grass from ECUSA with WCUSA foliage (bushes, trees etc) And yeah, it does look like an FCV.
Maybe it's a new European map, most likely German due to it being reminiscent of the German autobahn.
I'm 99% sure this is a map one of their clients is developing for their driver tests program. I can't seem to find the original blog post where they mentioned this though. I'm fairly certain we won't see this in the main game, ever.
I do agree with what @LucasBE said, as, it's shown in the monitors, it's kinda looking low quality/poly. also the graphics look kinda low too, witch can be dependence as of the map skybox, environment, the quality, textures (PBR), ect. and since beam devs are working on beamng most of the time, they have pretty powerful computers, witch can handle good enough of high quality graphics that it can be seen far away from the monitor too, but, this isn't the case here, as since 90% of the stuff being developed for the test team, are just meant for testing, and are not usually meant for driving aad stuff like such, thus meaning they are not mostly high quality. also, the road kinda looks like just a straight away to me, just a long straight road, but, who knows, maybe they're cooking something too. this could be the thing aswell
That's sad .... But also sounds pretty reasonable. Still we desperately need a highway or long drive map for trucking and cruising in beam --- Post updated --- It doesn't actually seem low poly, I mean, they even bothered in making the highway signs... Can't tell much by the picture quality but I can see some detail on it...
