My Family Currently has a 2016 Ford Expedition, we are thinking about downsizing to a smaller car. I was thinking we should get a Ford Explorer, But then I did some research. Its not the safest when it comes to driver and front passenger sides. what do you guys think my family should pick? Car Ideas list below

Presumably for the same reasons as your Kia since it's the same car.

If you want safe your best bet is something relatively large. But it depends where you live, a big old SUV like a Suburban would be unconventional for city commuting but if you live somewhere where snow is an issue you could get a higher and heavier vehicle. On the other hand, smaller cars are getting more and more capable if you have decent tires on them. If I were to get something in the medium size range I would get a light duty pickup but that suits my lifestyle because I am pretty much always moving large things.

Apparently, the Expedition is a really good car, so it would make sense to keep it.

If you want to downsize, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid or Buick Enclave is a good choice, but the Kia Sorento gets better value for money.

    Yeah, I should've been specific.

But if the Expedition is that good, his family should probably keep it instead of downsizing.

Yeah, his family would be better off sticking with that Expedition.

I'd wish to recommend the 2nd gen MDX, but I don't think it would make sense to downsize from a Expedition to a MDX (as in it's not at all downsizing).

The old Mazda MPV's are strong and heavy, they also have nice ground clearance.
