Is there anyone out there who would like to have another bus in BeamNG Drive? Because we have enough cars and there are also good car mods available. But we need a european bus! Does anyone agree with me?

if this were the case. then we would need two versio.. wait..

T series regular, and cabover (American)
Euro Trucks Cabover, or Cab behind engine (yes, look at a few scanias)

    and

    Euro Bus, Coach
    American Bus, Coach.

Would love to have a Euro type of bus in the game but for now at least we got multiple variants of the wentward as well as a pack for the standard one.

And lets not forget, you can drive a sports car in literally any other car game, minus actual physics.. only this, is where i could make a bus do 8 mins around the Nürburgring but again, it would be nice to have something more "regional" and nicer looking

Really isn't much of a difference between the two. I understand the want to have stuff from your own country/region but the major differences are just visual. A double decker bus would certainly be interesting, but other than that I don't really see much of a point in investing time into a different looking bus.

I see literally 0 differences aside from visual design which can vary both in the US and in Europe
And all cars are the same? Bruh

No you're right, buses are pretty much functionally all the same... but in this, the DT40L is basically the Fiat multipla- its rather boring to look at, Citaro at least looks somewhat nice but it'd be good to have something else other than the one thing, like the MAN TGS to the T-series

While I have to agree a Euro counterpart to the Wentward isn't really a topic for the foreseeable future, there are other options that could serve the game well.

A truck/van based bus would of course be fairly low on dev recourses compared to a dedicated city bus, so I don't see any reason to object to one of those on an existing platform. One of these would be pretty good for gameplay as they are common sights as cheap work trucks and at local tracks for demo derbies, oval races, etc... We really do need a large vehicle that would be at home on figure 8 race. Also, a second option for bus routes that's a different size class would be appreciated. I fully expect the van bus niche to be filled with the next phase of the H-Series remaster.

A high-floor city bus would just be a slightly taller DT40L... Not exactly a justifiable recourse to content ratio there.

An articulated bus could be made from the DT40L (and there was the old UV bits for one in game).

Where I think this all gets really interesting is the bigger stuff and the weirder stuff. A behemoth double decker/coach bus would be much different in both mechanics and use case than the DT40L, and just like in the automotive sector there has been some really quirky designs over the years if the team ever wanted to go that route.

To all! There are enough car mods that meet your needs, but no bus mods. We only have the Wentward, which has a wheelbase that is much too wide and the, and the Maz bus mod is not very good! Be kind!

Honestly would love to see atleast one bus, original or mod on the european take. I mean yeah they do the same things, but all busses do drive different. Same with the looks, the looks are also different. There's alot of reasons out there to have a european take on the wentward for example, nice suggestion. Now let's hope something like that will appear sometimes... I do have my doubts though.

I will explain for everyone, European buses are very different they have different engine placements a different wheelbase that changes the driving behavior a lot different door mechanisms other suspensions and many other things. Your muscle cars are just normal cars with a V8 and there are tons of these cars in the game, also there are much JDM (shit) cars, formular one cars and any other kind of cars you want. There is everything, BUT NO BUS!

Unfortunately I'm a noob so it'd probably take me like a year to learn blender first before being able to make something, let alone something of functional quality.

Also this is a thing, functionally the same yet very different, also a really good mod ♪

Since I started playing BeamNG, (rather the bus routes, but it was the first thing I did after crashing a Roamer at 180km / h in gridmap) I noticed that a small bus is missing, something more manageable that does not go up to the sidewalk every time you make a turn at a corner. something that is not more than 10 meters. and with capacity for 30 passengers ... I am guided by the buses that I usually see in public transport in my city, in Latin America. Here using buses the size of the Wentward is practically impossible, so small buses are used, with measures that I described above. Also, have you driven in the towns on the map of Italy with the Wentward? it's difficult.
So in my opinion, we don't need another giant bus, we need a small bus that is maneuverable in the city.

Ummmm, that's what I'm suggesting? a bus with a wheelbase no longer than 5 meters and an overall length no longer than 9 meters (approximately), so that it can be used in cities without getting on the sidewalk.
    something like this.

Would it be cool? Sure, but I think adding another bus shouldn't be, and isn't, a priority for the developers when more mainstream categories (modern muscle, to name one) remain unfilled.

yes there are a lot of "cars", but there is a lot of variance in the design and mechanical layout of "cars".

But in the entire world of fullsize buses like the wentward, throughout the last 40 years, pretty much all of them have an RR mounted engine, solid axles, air suspension, and space-frame style construction, all of which is exactly the same as the DT40L.
the only variance you see is the styling, the body layout (low-floor/high-floor layout, or maybe even double decker or bendy), or different drivetrain options such as a hydrogen, hybrid or trolleybus system, all of which could be reasonably retrofitted onto the existing wentward.

even looking at smaller front-engine busses, such as a Toyota coaster or ford econoline schoolbus, all of the variance in the driving experience (petrol or diesel, RWD or 4WD, open top tourist busses) can all already be filled by just building it on an H-series platform.

compare these to even just "sports cars", which can be FWD, RWD, or AWD, can have the engine in the front or back, can be set up for high speed or low speed handling, and can be something cheap, or something more upmarket and expensive.
that's not even mentioning the much more immediately apparent technical advancements that come every decade.

a DT40L and a modern european bus would handle practically identically (the newer one might be more fuel efficient),
but an Ibishu 200BX and an ETK Kc4T have completely different driving experiences, despite both being front engine, RWD 4-cylinder coupes, because they're built to different price brackets, and in the world of sports cars, being built 30 years apart by 2 completely different countries means a lot for how the car feels.
