This forum may have a few people who know what their doing, and frankly i dont want to sign up to another 3.

For the past couple months MC has been being weird. Whenever i do anything on it (i can run it fine with near max settings at a steady 200 fps or more, yet if i limit it to 20 fps it looks BETTER so i assume it is being significantly limited.

I have tried limiting fps to every setting, vsync, full screen or not, reinstalling, vanilla, optifine, all settings, checking cpu and gpu usage, setting java to high priority, etc. My only option is to set it to a lower version, and then i cant go on the the only server i want to and it would be pointless.

    Any more ideas?

    You don't need 200FPS anyway.
Just limit it to whatever your monitor refresh rate is.

Again that doesnt work, nothing i try works unless i limit it to 14 fps then i notice a difference. My monitor is spitting out 15 fps even though its all being processed at far greater numbers above that.

Sounds like either frame pacing or your CPU is being hit.

Are you hosting the server on the same machine while playing?

Its an external server that is very rarely laggy, it also happens on any other server or even local singleplayer worlds.

You hadn't thought to do that to begin with? That's the first thing you do, furthermore, you haven't done so in two months?
