Need a CPU to pair with my GTX 1060... Ryzen or Intel?

So, my RX 580's drivers suck, and I think I'll just continue using that card in my work machine and just build a little game box on the side.

I currently have a spare GTX 1060 6GB and a PSU: what processor should I buy for this build? I'd like something that doesn't break the bank (as they say), yet will allow me to run most maps—with high settings—at a solid 60 FPS, in 1440p. Currently, my RX 580 could do that if it weren't paired with Xeons / didn't have bad drivers.

Should I go with Intel, or Ryzen? And, which specific model? (To help the cost, I am willing to buy used.)
