Released Nürburgring {(Nordschleife + Sudschleife) (1967)}

    The vintage Nurburgring racetrack.

    Credits-

    <Note- if there is an existing version of nord_67, replace with new one>

    Featuring the old Nurburgring as seen in 1967, AI traffic and 5 Time Trials.

    Nordschleife (Hard)
    Betonschleife (Easy)
    Sudschleife (Medium)
    Gesamtstrecke (Very Hard)
    Steilstrecke (Easy)

    Changes to original file-
    1- Separated tower, barriers, houses (due to texture issues)

    2- Added roadside textures

    Very nice! Not only is 67 the year of my birth (and probably of some of the Forumster's granddads, too), but this brings back sweet memories of GP Legends 25 years ago. Unfortunately even on my system it is only 55 frames/s so I guess that it would be unplayable for most of other players. But what do I know. Maybe it still can be optimized? Nice also the parked cars, although I doubt that in 67 we already had Silvia, Isuzu 117 or Honda Coupé in Germany. But the BRM racetruck - top!

    The zip is packed at the wrong level - you have to zip it at level "level", easy to remember. Also drop in fps when brakes are blocking - a well known issue in imported (?) maps.

    I must say I love this much more than the modern track! It feels more like a real road with all those bumps and the dip down at Brünnchen. One thing though: if you want your time-trials to really end at the finish and also the possiblity to drive more than one lap, then you have to manually add the last segment (last checkpoint to finish) and leave the finish in the track layout as blank. That way a loop is created. I did this for Südschleife and Gesamtstrecke, if you want to have a look how it´s done, using your assets.

    Edit: I now done all four TTs, including a little prefabs. @ES457 : you can use it if you want if you want to include it in an update.

    Although I had to literally watch it in slo-mo to see how the little things that are obvious to a frequent world editor user are done, like finding and placing an object, putting it into a prefab etc.

    I´m also making an AI-Race on the Nordschleife. It will be four laps so the AI don´t run out of fuel. The default AI path should be adjusted a little as well, because in Hatzenbach and Karussell, they go over the curbs too much, losing speed.
    What would be your preferred opponents for an AI race so I can set it up for "release"?

    A Gavril Barstow, A pessima, a Miramar and an ETK I-Series, I think... Otherwise you can take any car of your choice (I don't mind any car)

    With normal traffic cars and an ondulating racetrack like the Nordschleife, it is quite difficult to make a race. I had to make them quite slow (risk 0.7) to make them survive and not crash. Number of opponents best what your frame rate can handle - with 9 opponents on my computer 30 fps which is near the minimum I can bare. Just for testing. Normally I take 3-5.
    Also included are a pursuit race on the Südschleife (always uses the player´s car) and a test race for car setups (also always uses the player´s car). With this autonomous test race you can watch how fast the AI drives certain cars or setups, or just follow them to learn the track. Have fun! I had!

    this is really awesome, i love the way the map is optimized, how the infrastructure, the signs, buildings, the textures made to look! :oops: oh man the 60s, what a crazy time! i think around that time that one dog sled race happened, yeah, did you know? bet you didn't haha! you can check out a video by misha charoudin called "everything you need to know about the nürburgring construction works". its a pretty old video but still learnt something new haha, about this huge history behind the racetrack. so anyway, love how accurate to history this map is, the lack of safety features of a modern racetrack, like fia regulated gravel traps or spectator safety nets/fences, should in theory make this map be actually dangerous and more difficult to drive than on a modern version of the nürburgring. also could you please tell me how was this made? i am looking at creating my own modern version with drivable L93, K73, B258, etc. roads. thanks thanks thanks! :p

    Probably I should clean the cache, but I often crashed into transparent walls at a distance of three or two meters from the edge of the road

    I think Pesima, LeGrand and Wendover are too modern, it whould be better if you can use Picolina, Miramar, Bluebuck and Burnside instead.

    Also AI can't handle vanilla Custom Config of Bluebuck on Südschleife , i didn't do anything even color are stock .

    But despite all this, I love your work and am grateful for these races, if you can forgive my criticism, will you do the same for the modern Nürburgring?
