My update on Steam is stuck at 99% for 2 days now.

I've googled this and tried everything I can think of to fix this problem. Steam is stuck at 99%. What to do??

 

Submitted a ticket. Nothing is working. This is the first major problem I've had with steam. I'm .... steaming.. mad.

 

I'm sick of waiting for steams "tech support". Can I just download the game directly?

 

there is no mechanism to do that.
THe issue here is with steam so they are sadly only ones that can help you

 

And they have no phone number, no email. All you can do is create a support ticket and get in line. This is worse than the DMV.

 

Yes I tried that. No improvement.

 

I have a Samsung 850 Pro SSD. 4 days now. I've tried everything including reinstalling steam and verifying cache.

 

I'd just like to mention that today I got the game to work despite what Steam says about it being downloaded. Simply went to the directory and clicked on the exe file. Steam to reports its downloading and is at 99%. Steam, or Valve, did reply to me concerning support but after 2 replies they gave up and failed to reply to any other emails. So, working, but not sure how the next update will go.
