I think we're missing some awesome maps, maps with jumps you can land, like a motor-cross track. We've got plenty of jumps, but no landing ramps. Reason being, I've got my buggy with some pretty intense suspension, I'd like to land jumps properly and softly. Cool project for someone IMO. EDIT: Bribe time. I'll give Garry's Mod to someone who makes an epic, functional, professional map?
The thing about such mx like jumps is that they are best, after being optimized to a specific vehicle. Same then goes for the whole track obviously as you want to minimize the risk of being to slow or the need to brake down(in front of a jump, not courner). So it would be more easy or effective to build a mx track after your buggy is (beta)released. Or at least the map builder of choice gets a version to build the map around it. The jumps in my beamania racetrack are designed specially for your porsche 911 and so you neither have to slow down or be feared to be to slow, as you will allways be on the perfect speed as long you did not mess up the last courner in front of the jump. And please Drowsy, can you tell me why you did remove the Porsche 911 Thread? In case it was on your will. My whole racetrack is build around it and depending on it at the moment, as only the porsche drives/drifts/jumps realy good on it while still having an adequate risk level or challenge. If it won't be re-released by you, the racetrack won't be half as good im feared.
I was going to do something like this anyways, I was thinking of porting "Bajarama" from rigs of rods, but I was going to wait until you can adjust the grip settings on meshses, other wise you would be on a dirt track that would feel like tarmac. But I may make my own with the terrain editor as well.
You can do that by using the height map from RoR, the original map wasn't a mesh object anyway, so it should be no problem for the grip and such. If you can't figure out, I'd be glad to do that.
Just in case anyone else comes across this problem or wants to work around the lack of different grip settings on mesh objects within t3d. You can render heightmaps from any meshsurface in programs like blender, you just have to obey rendersettings a little and use an orthogonal camera, no perspective.
Haha. Okay. I will put up the download when I'm not busy. Beware though, it is my first ever 'proper' terrain, so it's a little rough in places.
Do you guys think I should make a new thread for it? I'm not sure I will be able to upload it tonight.
I never removed that, but I gave 'someone' permission to remove it just to shut them up. I guess I could re-release it under mods and skins. Hell yeah, I'd love to see Bajarama in BeamNG, that would be perfect. That looks good Looks quite bumpy and stuff though, but with more work it would be epic
I will sacrifice the spaghetti monster to the golden albatross if you release it and upload it tonight.
