Hello Community, I'm trying to make my own effects for BeamNG. It's still "Work In Progress"... Tips and help are welcome! - Now dirt and sand has it own particles. Pictures:
I really like both! The first one though I think needs to gain volume a bit quicker behind the vehical rather than staying really small like that sort of like this The first minute of the video is what I am on about... just like... A bit more volume I suppose... and the bigger it gets the more transparent it gets to simulate it spreading out... I don't even know how to do that however but I am sure it is doable
Check out driver San Francisco, absolutley awsome smoke tyre effects and squeals!! i think we need some better more realistic engine sounds to watch from 5:20 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXmA7k7GSL4
I personally have always thought that while other games have much better dynamics for building up tire smoke (mafia 2, Driver, Gran Turismo,... so on) I personally think that the best looking smoke effects for tire smoke have been long held by Need For Speed Pro Street... The smoke is very filling and very very convincing. While I used to think this was some incredibly crazy particle simulation of some sort... I now think it is just the same kind of system as any other game, but my goodness does it look nice. As for dirt effects... well... This is the best I could find its not very good, but it is dirt 3 ... I dunno why, but this is an area where many games just plain fall short
