I'm working on a fictional NASCAR track that is the same shape and size as Pocono, but with high banked turns so it races more like Daytona and Talladega. There is an infield lake and road course as well. I would eventually like to add more features such as a drag strip, offroad/rally area, and maybe some other fun stuff. Here are a few screenshots to get started.
An idea I'm testing out where I make 3 visually identical terrain materials with different grip levels. Blue is standard grip, green is the rubbered in groove, and yellow is dusty, dirty, low grip. This idea would be better for a different track where running is the groove is much more important, but we'll see how it turns out.
I would like to do that eventually. At least some roads and buildings to tie in the whole area. As you can see, there is plenty of room to expand.
Looks really good. Not a lot of racing tracks around these days, (that are made from scratch.) Hope you see it through, all the best.
