Mod help, where'd they go?

ok, Ill start by saying i am still very new to computer gaming vs console gaming. With that said I have only played spintires and assumed the downloading of mods is the same but i cannot for the life of me find the mods i downloaded nor can figure out how to get them to work. Normally i just click download, restart game, and bam, there they sit in inventory. I have read the "how to download mods" plastered above the mod screen but apparently I have missed something.
Somebody spell this out for me

Well, there is nothing more to say.
Mods are easy to install. Simply download and put in Documents/BeamNG.Drive/mods, nothing else.
Highly suggest to use mods from our site as we manually check them, and you can get in touch with the authors easily.

If you are getting them from other sites, it's possible those mods are not packed correctly and need different installation instruction.

ok got it figured out, guess because the account was not verified i didnt have the "install" button on most links. Now my question is how to use the zip mods? I am playing through steam and i dont have a local folder or file path. Yea, not good at this stuff lol

Just follow the tutorial I linked above, it says everything you need to know, and it follows you in all the steps.
