Hey everyone, I'm completely new to moding and i am trying to create a ute version of the miamar. Everything seems to be great and quite like it. The shape of the cab is inspired by the Datsun 1200 ute which looks overally similar to the miramar. Now I will have to make a new tailgate, taillights and glass for the cab. I think I have a hang of what to do in blender but I have no idea what to do after. How to actually get it into the game and do the ... Jbeam stuff. Any tips, suggestions, and advice? Ill be happy for anything. Thanks
oh... pick-up style but car based, so thats a ute sorry i see that in a crewcab old hilux and i know its rare on pick-ups
Oh ok. Not planned. Momentaly I am probably not even skilled enough to make it. As i said i am a complete beginer and i will have to make a whole new big part and remove the whole back of the original Miramar. Also, the bed seems to sit on a ladder frame chassis like the D series has. So I would have to make one for the Miramar. So as i said, not planned. But you give me ideas. Maybe in the future.
Hello again Just a little update on the progress The ute has a real glass modelled now and i finally found out about the edge split modifier. I thouht some of the shading was bad and now it looks all great. And because i love naturally aspirated engines, i decided that i will make individual throttle bodies. As in real life, with these the engine will make more power and have better throttle response. If i will be smart enough to code that in. The model in blender is done. Left to do in blender is creating taillights. Unlike the D-series there is not enough space on the sides so I decided to put them either under the tailgate on the body or on the bumper. I think they look better on the body under the tailgate. Here is a picture of what I mean. Please let me know what you think. (made in microsoft paint) --- Post updated --- Oh thank you. As i have no experience with Jbeam it will be twice as heplful. Separate configuration? Iam not sure what you mean by that. It will definitely have a bunch of configurations like the original miramar has but iam probably not going to make it a separate car. Its just a new bodystyle.

Good to see iam not the only one who likes these taillights. Momentally i have tons of time so i will get working on them right tomorow. Thank you again for recomending me the plugin. That solves the part i was scrared of. Everything should be pretty easy now and i will hopefully get the car into BeamNG very soon.
Yeah, iam pretty sure i used triangles from the beginning. Every part of the original Miramar was made out of triangles so i just continued doing the same. This is how its supposed to look, right? There are no quads all around. Thanks for the tip anyway, i was wondering why all the original meshes use triangles.
i said OHC I6... not a crazy twin turbo DOHC 32 valve 1xxxhp engine. Plus a ute is supposed to be a heavy duty vehicle not a city car --- Post updated --- something like an S20 or an L series engine (nissan S30)
Just a quick note: the model having quads or tris doesn't matter, as the model is not the same used for jbeam. The visual model that the player sees, the one you are modeling now, has nothing to do with jbeam. I recommend reading the whole wiki, even if it's outdated for some parts. You'll quickly get the idea of how to jbeam.
Hey again, So, all the blender stuff is done and for a long time i have been working on getting the car to work in game. And as i was afraid, i failed. And worse, i failed right on step one. And that is just simply getting the part to atleast show up in the Miramars part menu. I used the Blender Jbeam exporter as suggested and i tried all i could. So for now, its on hold till i find a solution.
