Methods to buy the game

I want to buy the game without Steam, and without Humble Bundle - ie directly from BeamNG, without the program being linked to anything else. Is this still possible? Reading old forum posts shows that it was in the past, as they mention some code that is given to you on purchase that you use to download the game from the website. Now on the homepage, all I see is a link to purchase on Steam and Humble Bundle. I also read that some users were unable to update the game without Steam - is this true?

Edit: If this is not possible, it is possible to buy it on Steam, download and run on a computer without Steam?

And this sort of contradicts my initial question, but once having bought the game, is it possible to link it to Steam at a later time? It doesn't really matter if I can't, though.

Do I have to choose one or the other (Steam key or DRM-Free download), or am I allowed to have both?

 

You can also simply take the steam copy and place it on another PC, it too is DRM free
