I just got the game, and it runs great in game, mid 30's fps but the menu takes about 5 minutes to procces every single mouse click. I havent even bothered to try setting up my wheel because the menu is like talking with a catatonic rock via morse code. I'm running an Intel XEON 8core, 32GB ram, Geforce GTX660. Anyone know a solution to this?

There is no solution. 2 updates before the current one, this problem appeared. Still not fixed to this day. People complained about it and it was "fixed" but it really wasn't. Everybody has to deal with it until like 2-3 updates after.

I mean, if you're running an 8 core xeon, with that video card, it's probably got pretty shit single core speed, which this game loves

even if you're at 0% usage on the main game thread, the UI takes forever to respond
if you have any kind of usage on the thread/core the main game thread is running on, it runs like complete and utter shit dripping down an ass
there is nothing to be done about it except complain

If it is "fixed" this update, it's probably going to be till december so you might have to quit playing until then. I'm not even kidding, I was pretty pissed with the laggy UI and still am. Configuring cars takes 10 minutes to put on like 5 parts and the laggy UI doesn't help either.

Pausing physics usually makes the menus run faster. Works for me on my 6GB RAM computer.

Crap, the post above me said the same thing as I was typing this.

pausing physics is not a real solution, it's still a problem, and it should be addressed, and every time one of you suggests that, tdev pushes it back another year in his mind

@TranquilTiger Any menu, or a particular one?
Would you be able to make a video?

    Are you using mods?
If so, please first check without any of them.

    Also check this list:

Some users had problems with the UI being caused by some of these.

The vehicle selector is one of the most complex parts on the UI and can be slowed down for quite a lot of reasons.
We are still looking into it, but easy fixes cannot be promised.
We will keep you updated as we find out more.

I have not experienced any issues with the menu slowing down. I have a decently powerful computer and I don't run any mods. Could someone show a video of the issue? I am curious to see what you guys are having trouble with.

the menu while in game actually runs quite well, cars load at a normal pace, maps take about 30 seconds which seeems totally fine, its on par with Gmod's Q menu but when in the main title menu and any branching menus, even trying to change a key binding, any action at all takes about 6 minutes. Starting up Gmod with hundreds of mods is quicker which is why it seems so odd to me.

Its the mods for me. They make the UI SLOWWWW.
Sometimes I like going in safe mode just so I will have a less laggy UI.

I have this same problem all the time. I had a bus, a trailer, and a truck spawned and 3 updates before this last one, the vehicle/part selector would load in less than 10 seconds with the same amount of vehicles spawned. I will try disabling mods and pausing physics, but I don't foresee that working. I would assume that eventually this will get fixed, but until then, this is going to be hell.
