matte colors

    I know how to make a car a different color and whatnot but I want to know if a matte color could be ummmmmm idk possible

    While not perfect, you can make the paint look matte by disabling the cubemap in the vehicle's material file. The pictures below show the Bolide in a purple color. As you can see, the color looks a lot brighter without the cubemap. You can't really make dark matte colors like black or olive. It's much better for lighter colors.

    cant you edit the .dds of the car and instead of having a color that is slightly transparent in the .dds, make it a solid color

    Easiest way is to just crank up the alpha on the diffuseColor[2] (the one that controls the paint color). It's the last value of the 4 in quotes. Make it 2 or something and you won't get any reflections, just matte shine. You can edit materials.cs to do this.

    It's a bit annoying having to edit the material.cs everytime. I tried setting the alpha to something over 1, but doing that using the ingame material editor doesn't work. Any chance you guys are going to look at it?

    Hopefully we can hack the color selector to allow for alpha values above 1, since they clearly work when manually set in materials.cs.

    Lowered specularity would help also.
