Any model that has textures has some sort of UV map. Some model editors don't work with them properly or simply don't support them, but they're there. If the model is in DAE format import it into Blender and try looking at one of the objects' drop-down menu until you get to the checkered circle next to an ID. That ID is the name of the material that goes into the 'mapTo:' section in the materials.cs folder when you define an image file as a material.
