Hello. I would be very grateful if someone could create a map for me, because I cannot do this myself due to being blind/not sighted. I'm only looking for a basic setup, I believe my requirements won't be to difficult or take much time so I've been told. I would like a wide open map with lots of space to drive anywhere I want. I want the map to have sections of different road and off-road surfaces, preferably all the surfaces available in the game if possible including shallow water which can be driven through. I also want different sized jumps, from bumps and small up/down hills to sizeable drops in parts of the map, both on and off-road. One essential requirement is no walls, I really, really don't want walls or any static/indestructible obstacle in the map. whilst it's fun to total a car after sending it flying over a jump, it's not fun at all to constantly crash when you're not in a position to avoid things. This next thing isn't a big deal if it's to much, but it would be great if whoever is creating the map could add ambient sounds that will let me know which section I'm approaching, for example beach/wave sounds if I'm approaching sand and water, or forest sounds if approaching grass or dirt etc etc. BTW gridmap isn't an option for the reason mentioned above, to many things to crash into so not a fun experience. Smallgrid is awesome but only one surface. I really hope someone can do this for me, it would mean a lot. Many thanks in advance.
Hello. I really hope someone will make a map for you, but i am wondering if it's possible to make a mod that ads some sort of audible proximity sensors to the cars just like sensors for reversing. The sound could be different for front, rear, left, right and the corners. And the intensity could change depending on the distance of objects.
Well hello, unfortunately people really dont want to do such request, simply because they're not doing what they want. However, Spencer Johnson does accept commisions for map but I kinda doubt you have the money to commision him. But as far as I know, map making is not really that hard. There are tutorials on how to make or modify maps to your own desire taste which would've been more preferable for you. This is not the right place to say this. But great news for you, Daddelzeit made a working proximity sensors to an upcoming remaster of Theo's Hirochi CCF.
What would you want to be different from this map? https://beamng.com/threads/can-someone-make-me-a-specific-type-of-map.80510/#post-1343898 He is blind, how is he supposed to use the editor?
Thank you for the replies. I suppose you are referring to the person who describes their map to be made mostly of grass? I was very grateful for that gesture, however it was only one surface and as I described that I would like different surfaces both on and off-road if it's possible. Also no offence meant, but I'm a girl That topic is also old, so I thought I'd create a new one rather than revive the old one. Regarding Spencer Johnson, I tried starting a conversation with them, perhaps I did it wrong because I never got a reply. How much does he make maps for? With all due respect I'd rather hear his prices and if he can do the map first before anyone judges if I can afford it or not --- Post updated --- What is that photo?
A somewhat surprised-looking smiley face. It seems he didn't quite pick up on the context of the conversation until now. Edit: Purely a wild concept, but it may be possible to design a spherical level using planetary gravity. That way, you would never need to turn around to continue navigating the space. But that would require using static mesh, which tends to be lower-resolution and more performance-intensive. And there would be an absolute speed limit, otherwise your vehicle might enter orbit.
Ahh ok Your idea sounds like it could be fun, but I'm focussing on trying to get a map like I described for now. I have a map on GTAV, it's not open world as in I can't go in different directions, but it's a nice straight road with different sounding barriers so I know to keep the car straight, and it has lots of big ramps so there's a sort of challenge to doing it. With beamng, I would love a map like I described, if I could make one myself I would do it, but the track editor isn't accessible with my text to speech software. I just about get away with navigating around the menus to set myself up on free-roam, but that's using OCR scanning and is very temperamental. As I mentioned earlier, I am willing to pay if necessary for the time etc if the person makes it. I can't exactly pay hundreds, but within reason I can provide the money if the maker can provide the effort. I would also like to mention that I nearly got scammed once with the GTAV map, I was just very very lucky that my provider helped me to get the money back, meaning that although I'm not refusing to pay anymore, I definitely won't be paying anything in advance until I have that download link lol. Also before anyone asks, the person who helped create my GTA map isn't around to ask anymore.
I could definitely do a map for you like this. Feel free to throw some more specifics in. Do you want it to just be a massive grid of all the different terrain types with everything you've described, or do you want it to be a sort of mixed bag of terrain shapes? It might take me a while, purely because I have work on, but I'm happy to help out if I can. P.S. Wouldn't accept cash even if you offered.
Hey, I might be able to help in the regard of the map design. How do you currently navigate the game/driving/etc while blind just so we can make sure the map can accommodate whatever features are being used, such as narration of controls, or some sort of haptic feedback for things like rough terrain (sorry if this sounds ridiculous i'm just not familiar with the software or attachments that would be used in this circumstance)
Hello Hello,I have a question, how do you play BeamNG if you are blind? I would be happy to make a map for you
Thank you so much in advance for wanting to help, I really appreciate both your gestures. @el_ferrito, a mixture of different terrane shapes as you mentioned would be a great edition to the map, because I could literally drive in any direction and it would be a different experience every time based on the position of the car, rather than linear sections. That's if doing shapes doesn't make it harder for you, as I say I'll be grateful for anything that mostly meets my requirements. @Car8john, It doesn't sound ridiculous at all, I appreciate the fact that you want the map to be as suitable as possible for me. This may or may not help, but I'll describe the 2 maps that I have for other games. The GTA map I have already mentioned, it's a straight, one-way road with barriers each side and ramps in parts, but each barrier has different sounding rumble strips on the edges which help me make the appropriate turn to straighten up the car. One strip sounds gravelly, the other sounds smooth. We were limited when making the GTAV map as we didn't know how to use the more advanced tools, hence why the map is only one-way and has 1 surface. The second map is for the first TDU game. It follows a similar concept with the rumble strips, however the TDU map is a large ring road, which gives me a lot more freedom as there is dirt instead of barriers if I veer off-course, and it is much wider too, no jumps though. I don't know if beam has strips or similar alternatives, but it may give you some ideas. I also play the latest Forza games, they have auto steering and apparently they are releasing a system that will make a blind person be able to drive a car without assists in the new motorsport. I have a suggestion to put to you @Car8john: would you be interested in making a completely different map compared to what el_ferrito has offered to create? Because I was thinking we could create a more racing or rally based map if you know of any ways to aide navigation. Also could you both please create conversations with me to discuss the maps? It will be better for me to reply because I get notifications. Sorry for the long post hahaha
