Manual keyboard shifting

Hello! I've had a keyboard bind for neutral gear for the longest time, but recently, I've also found the need to bind actual gears so that I can get back into gear at high speed without destroying the 1st gear's synchros.

Problem is, the binds switch back to neutral when the key is released. I've tried setting the bind filter to "key (fast)" with no luck (I'm not even sure what the filters do). I've found that pressing the key very quickly does sometimes leave the gear in, but this is very unreliable.

I would like to know how I can shift into gear and have it stay in when the button is released.

 

Very strange. Either I'm in Arcade mode and have no control of the gears, or in realistic mode and have full control of the gears.

Idk what gremlins you have

Maybe disabling downshift protection?

 

I already have that disabled. I do have clutch assist turned on though, I'll try and see if disabling that can help me out.

 

I have disabled all assists and yet nothing has changed. Still can't stay in gear no matter what.
