Feedback thread for Luuks Tyre Thermals and Wear Mod Hey everyone! As my tyre thermals and wear mod is a fairly complicated mod which requires a lot of tweaking of values to get right, I figured a feedback thread was in order. If you have any feedback for my tyre wear/thermals mod on how to make it feel more realistic, what to change about the wear/thermal response, new features, or any other suggestions, please leave them here! Link to the mod: https://www.beamng.com/resources/luuks-tyre-thermals-and-wear-mod.26947/
I'll see what I can do for that, my plans for pitstops mostly focused around multiplayer but I'd also prefer if it didn't have to rely on a BeamMP script, so we'll see what magic I can make happen
lucky4luuk updated Luuks Tyre Thermals and Wear Mod with a new update entry: Update v0.2: Improved overall calculations, fixed up slippery surfaces generating heat, and more Read the rest of this update entry...
lucky4luuk updated Luuks Tyre Thermals and Wear Mod with a new update entry: v0.3: 3 ring temperature system, more tweaking, tread coefficient used now too Read the rest of this update entry... --- Post updated --- V0.2 and V0.3 turn out to have a big bug related to ground models, which breaks thermals. I've uploaded V0.4 already, once it gets approved make sure to update it as it fixes this bug. Hope everyone has a nice day and is still somewhat enjoying this mod, even with these bugs coming up
Hello! I would like to say that in general, the mod seems to make cars just slower. This is a little annoying, because even on warmed-up tires, the car turns badly in turns. (I've drived on Sport Tires) And at very high temperatures, the car does not drift into oversteer, but as if understeer increases very much. I really hope that they will fix this, because the mod is extremely necessary for racing!
could you make tyres blowout like if tyre status smaller than 0 like -1 or -10 blowout it would be awesome! but if you cant or doesnt want its ok
@SEIZLEX Not experienced any noticeable slowdown at all myself. Looking forward to the admins approving the 0.4 update.
Hey, this is not intended behaviour to purely slow down your laptimes, but it seems like it's just what ends up happening to your car. I might be limited by the way I change the tyre grip (as I'm currently just setting up a multiplier for the friction coefficient) so maybe in the future this might improve. From testing with v0.4, if I overheat my rears while keeping my fronts happy, cars absolutely want to oversteer more I'm working on it, but it's a bit lower on my priority list than getting the basics down and getting all the bugs worked out Hopefully I can drop an update for tyre blowouts somewhere this week. --- Post updated --- Yes, it works with automation cars, modded cars, etc. It even works with mods that use custom tyres, like the Scintilla GT3.
Blowouts are a thing anyway. There's me quite happily giving it maybe only 50% round Nordschleife & suddenly BOOM game over.
My record on Tsukuba Fruit Line Downhill (Outbound) on R34 was 2:09:131 And with this mod my record now 2:13:135 Some other people have noticed it as well. Their time also added 3-4 seconds from their previous record The car seemed to have become more grip, while turning did not become better. Previously, my R34 was a little oversteering with gas, but now it's a kind of tank. And I can make it drift only with the handbrake.
BeamNG's current tire model simulates tires in optimal conditions. That means no wear, and ideal temperatures. This mod will absolutely slow you down, and I believe that's intended.
Pretty much spot on, the goal of this mod is to introduce wear and thermal related grip loss so it's not going to speed you up
Interesting. So if you drive at say 75% effort from the get-go you have wiggleroom as wear increases, keeping times consistent
Sort of, you can push fairly hard as long as you manage your temps and try not to break traction. I will say however that the wear calculations aren't as refined as the thermal calculations yet (which also aren't very refined xd), so it might not be as easy as just avoiding traction loss. But in R&R we are already doing races with v0.4 and it's pretty cool definitely adds a very cool factor to longer races
I'll write a little off topic, but is there some kind of mod that adds sport plus tires to all wheels, and not just on 19x9 and higher?
