    Hi All,

A few months ago replaced my ageing games PC with a new one. Spec is:
    • Intel i7 13700 16-core
    • 32gb Ram
    • GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
    • 2x 1TB SSD
However, I notice if i am on West Cost USA, with high graphics settings and traffic I am getting about 60FPS - however when looking at Performance Monitor the GPU is running at about 56%. I did CTRL + SHIFT + F in BeamNG and it said the bottleneck is GPU!

I have the latest drivers and the game is up to date, but i am not sure why there is this bottleneck if the GPU is running at around 56%..

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Andy

Its possible you might need more capacity RAM since higher resolution uses more RAM, however ive never really had vanilla BeamNG run out of RAM, only in BeamMP.

The other possibility is that your CPU isnt reading or writing data fast enough to the GPU, therefore it sits at lower usage than it would be if the CPU was faster. In theory this shouldnt be happening with a I7 16 core, so maybe you havent set the CPU up properly in the BIOS.

These are my best guesses, more info is probably needed for an accurate diagnosis.

    Thank you for the reply.

The system came pre-built so I would assume the CPU is set up in the bios correctly. It's showing 16 cores in Windows. But I'll double check the configuration.

The RAM wasn't maxed out, it was just over 70% used.

What info would be useful to further diagnose it?

    Thank you
    Andy

What resolution is your monitor and what are you running the game at? Your GPU will be better utilised running at 1440 or especially 4k, but in theory you should get higher frames at 1080p, but this also depends on the CPU.
What traffic were you using aswell, was it simplified or regular? On my PC having too much regular traffic decreases fps by alot, but simplified seems to run better where i get about 60fps with 12 or so cars (but i only have a 6 core CPU so in my opinion you should definitely be getting more than that).

Try out Vulkan. On my system it gives me a noticeable FPS boost.

In the CTRL SHIFT F menu, you can see what's limiting you. The text is flashing in white. If your GPU is only used ~60%, you're probably CPU limited. Feel free to post a screenshot. Vulkan should help in that case.
Also check in task manager if your RAM is running at full speed

Thank you all for your responses. I am running a screen resolution of 3440 x 1440

The traffic settings, Performance Graph and Task Manager screenshots are in the zip file - for some reason i couldn't upload the PNG. I was getting an error saying "Error parsing the ZIP file"

I will give Vulkan a try this evening and revert back! thank you all for your comments.

Yep, as I said: CPU and GameEngine are highlighted (in orange though), means you're CPU limited somehow. Try to set 'Amount of parked vehicles' to auto (leftmost position)
Also show us the memory tab in task manager, it'll say at which speed your RAM is running.

Speaking of memory speed, its possible that because its a pre-build, XMP might not have been activated, so your RAM might be at its slowest speed.
