    Hey all,

I have 2 problems I'd like to discuss in this thread. First of all my PC seems to get rather low FPS for the specs it has.

    My specs:
    RAM - 16GB
    CPU - Intel Core i7-4710HQ @ 2.50GHz
GPU - Nvidia GeForce GTX 870M

On Gridmap with the basic Gavril D-series my FPS averages at about 40-45 with drops to 30 while just casually driving. This is while having graphics set to "Low". SSAO, DoF and Anti-Aliasing are On and Light Rays are Off. I also have "Shadow display" set to "All".

I also recently reinstalled the game but this didn't fix the issue.

Any ideas to improve my FPS? I barely have any other programms open while playing,

Second problem is the imput lag I'm experiencing with my steering wheel. I tried both 2.0 and 3.0 USB ports but those don't seem to make a difference. Also put steering filter to "Direct" but that didn't fix the problem completely. The steering wheel I have is a Thrustmaster T150 RS Pro and it's updated. Any other things to try to fix it?

The only tips I can give are these:
Shaders impact performance the most. Varies from Lighting to Overall shader quality,
Resolution if made smaller increases fps drastically,
Much as I know, textures dont have a big impact on fps, so you can set them high.
''I also have "Shadow display" set to all'' Try them on partial.
Try and put on this option, simplified collision physics. Its in the settings somewhere.

When I had a bad PC, I tried to balance stuff out between quality and performance.
    Looks decent, performs decent.
Uh so, thats kind of it. :p

That sounds about normal. Laptops tend to have less performance than their desktop counterparts, and it doesn't help that yours is a few generations behind in terms of specs.

    Try this;

Those specs aren't that good for BeamNG.drive, especially the graphics card/chip-set you have in your laptop. It may be good enough for many other games, unfortunately BeamNG.drive takes a bit more from the specs department than what you have currently.

As for input lag, sadly that's normal too... And extremely annoying.

From my own experience you need to be able to reach stable higher framerates (above 60 FPS) with VSync off in order to somewhat eliminate both the input lag and improve overall FFB feel.

Turn ssao off, that is 2nd most heavy thing after reflections, but together with reflections totally kills performance as it can increase also CPU usage and your CPU is what can easily become an issue here.

Shadows you can set to partial and you probably can't see difference, but you might gain performance.

Texture quality you can usually have bit higher than others at it has low impact on performance.

Input lag is likely because your CPU is being murdered. It is not about total CPU usage, but more of how hard 1 core of your CPU is being murdered.

Also as this game is very heavy on CPU and pretty heavy on GPU too, laptops might not be perfect for it as heavy constant load can easily get amount of heat higher than laptop is designed for, so throttling happens as laptops quite often are designed to handle only under minute of full load, then performance starts decreasing because of throttling.
Some laptops do better, some worse, but laptop CPUs are designed for low power usage and they generally don't just perform so well in prolonged heavy loads, if anything new ones are even worse than old ones in that.

Even small factor PC can do quite bit better, not sure how much pre-builts there are, but with AIO cooling one can build quite nice performing and still well cooling small PC if space is at premium. Still not as handy to use while on go, but for this game I would definitely look a PC and to get something with rather high single core CPU performance, that is needed even this game uses all cores for vehicles, there is also other stuff that needs to be processed by CPU.
