As the title says, I'm looking to pay somebody to create a vehicle mod for me. The vehicle would be a Mini Cooper S / JCW The year, could be discussed, (although most of them are extremely similar) and multiple variants would be discussed as well (depending on the price) Please PM me with an invoice to an estimated cost and we can move from there.
Are you willing to pay 300$ minimum for a quality mod? Or a 20bux for a quick n dirty mod? And why exactly is that? If someone is willing to give away their hard earned cash to pay someone to make quality content, i dont see why not. Stop starting sh*t where there isnt, its not needed.
Hello, I suggest to learn it yourself. There are tons of forums and even servers to help you with beam modding. Here is one; (not sure if this is allowed xed) Not saying that you can't pay for a mod, but it's just a little suggestion. https://discord.gg/3Fy86de
I've looked into this and actually tried to start, but I don't know how to do any jbeam, and my 3d modeling is.... well.... to put it simply. Sh*t I know with lots of time and practice I could get it, but I personally don't have the free time, or the patience to learn it. Also 3d modeling cars is not recommended unless you know how to 3d model from previous experience.
I've gotten an offer for around $100 USD from somebody I'm not going to name. The amount of work they're willing to do sounds promising. I'll see how this goes but I think the mod quality should be pretty decent as I've looked at some of their posts and have seen the quality of their work.
okay. Im gonna be honest tho, a lot can happen here. The guy could be dedicated and do a proper mod for 100. But ill be honest theres not going to be a scratch made jbeam+model+texture for that price. It all depends what you want tho, its a complicated topic paying to create mods, some people completely refuses the idea. But to be honest, in the real world where you are paid by the hour, a real scratch made project can easily take up to a few 100 hours. which to say the least its gonna be some 300$-1000$+ But its all good tho, if you are satisfied what what he can make thats good. By curiosity, is this going to be a public mod afterwards? or kept private. Good luck with the project.
I'll likely see how the quality turns out, as well as get permission from the creator (although I believe if I'm paying for it, I pay for the rights to it.)
not saying there's anything wrong with the concept, things like fiverr work pretty good for stuff like this but if you do decide to pay someone for a mod just be careful and make sure the person is trustworthy, i've had friends who have been scammed while paying someone to do things like this but gl
I am being as careful as can be. Paying only a small portion until the mod is complete, (as agreed by both me and the person), asking for progress pictures to be sure it's being worked on, and also have been asking a LOT of questions lol. Edit: Also Paying through paypal so if there is an issue, I can create a dispute and hopefully get reimbursed.
As far as I'm aware of, I'm not breaking any rules, nor am I posting in the incorrect forum section. But if there is an issue with this post, please do explain so I can get it taken down if need be.
I mentioned this in another similar thread as well, and it's fine. Phym and others please refrain from spreading posts saying otherwise. If the commissioner and the one that is proposing for the task are able to find an agreement, then there are no problems. Of course, you guys need to take care of all the legalities (and similar) work, in order to avoid unpleasant misunderstandings. This is all done by you, BeamNG won't be having any implication / responsability in that obviously. ProTip for OP: Making something from scratch, especially a vehicle, can easily require months of work, depending on how many people are working on it. Please calculate the compensation to be fair for the amount of work you are requesting, and time needed to be completed.
Being an artist myself and often making commissions, the only difference i see between art commissions and this kind of 3D model+jbeam is that this last one will require way more time to achieve. It can be so much time consumming that i don't even see how a commission rate could be a motivation big enough to get a proper work to the end. Making something that involving for the pleasure and for ourselves as a hobby is one thing, and making something for someone else paying for it is another. But if someone can take pleasure to make the requested car for himself first, and have a few bucks for making it as a bonus, then it's fine. What i mean is that something like 100 bucks for that job is more a donation than a payment for the full work.
