ok, the purpose of this thread is to put a mod, paid or not, that we consider very good (like gavril vertex) and a link to a site where you can get the mod (optionally an explanation of why we find this mod very good) the purpose of this thread is just to facilitate the search for good mods, like that, no need to watch 1 billion videos here is already a selection of mods that I strongly recommend : Scale Automation quality very bad quality bad quality good quality very good quality Dev quality Vehicles Gavril vertex NA2 : Dev quality (A LOT of configurations) : https://www.beamng.com/resources/gavril-vertex-na2.13061/ cherrier Picnic : Dev quality (paid) (3rd of the paid mods) : https://lucasbeoff.gumroad.com/l/picnic ibishu saga : very good Quality (few configurations) : https://www.beamng.com/resources/ibishu-saga.20208/ ibishu kashira gen 2 : very good Quality : https://www.beamng.com/resources/1995-ibishu-kashira-gen-2.8319/ Isura conquerista : very good quality (few configurations) : https://www.beamng.com/resources/isura-conquerista.24842/ civetta mondello : very good quality (paid) (4th of the paid mods) (few configurations) : https://szantosz.gumroad.com/l/mondello ibishu signia : Dev quality (paid) (1st of the paid mods) : https://lj74.gumroad.com/l/ibishusignia gavril scout : Dev quality (paid) (2nd of the paid mods) : https://lucasbeoff.gumroad.com/l/scout Ibishu claria : Dev quality : https://www.beamng.com/resources/1976-ibishu-claria.23101/ Hirochi CCF2 : very good quality : https://www.beamng.com/resources/hirochi-ccf2.21012/ Hiroshi mistral : very good quality : https://www.beamng.com/resources/hirochi-mistral.23527/ ETK C-series : good quality : https://www.beamng.com/resources/etk-c-series-2004-2011.23752/ procyon centauri : very good quality/Dev quality : https://www.beamng.com/resources/2022-procyon-centauri.24393/ 1994 ETK K-series : good quality/very good quality : https://www.beamng.com/resources/1994-etk-k-series.20482/ MAPS Lakeside Park Raceway : very good quality (it's the best racing circuit I know, already the map is small so a lot of FPS and a lot of opponents and in addition the AIs when we tell them to flee they advance along the circuit without taking another path suddenly we can very easily organize races) : https://www.beamng.com/resources/lakeside-park-raceway.10895/ motorsports playground : very good quality : https://www.beamng.com/resources/motorsports-playground.21834/reviews CONFIGURATIONS small pack for gavril vertex : it's just configurations for gavril vertex so it's just an additional mod (a lot of configurations) : https://www.beamng.com/resources/small-pack-for-gavril-vertex.25814/
I disagree about this one, it's literally just the Roamer with a custom grille, tailgate and badges, you can't call it dev quality if 99% of it is vanilla assets
ok it's just that since it's a bit of a copy paste of the roamer the quality is good (but it's true that I don't particularly recommend it) I could take it off but it still has pretty good quality overall
I agree, from the ones I've messed with, I think the Claria and the Vertex should be the only ones on this list that are listed as "dev quality". The only reason I consider the Vertex dev quality is that it's a cheap economy car you can do dumb stuff with and has so many features.
The Signia, Picnic, and Scout are on the same level (or at least, quite close). No other mods are as far as I know, though.
People will never 100% agree what is dev quality and what not because not only a lot of various factors need to be judged but also the standards of dev quality are inconsistent and the treshold is not precisely defined. My opinion (might be very controversial, sorry in advance): Signia, Claria, Picnic - definitely dev quality Scout - also dev quality but not as high YET, until the issue with being too hard to deform for what it is gets addressed (it may seem like a small issue but to me it's one of the key factors in judging mods). Probably my most controversial take. Vertex - In most areas definitely reaches dev quality but due to having started as an Automation car and undergone 2 full reworks some smaller things are not quite fully polished yet. I would say it still counts. Saga - very close to dev quality but doesn't feel finished and polished enough YET, it's great but not quite there, and personally not my taste either (maybe that's the reason why I don't see many outstanding things about it). In the future it will reach dev standards for sure if it continues getting updated. Kashira: Not dev quality anymore after the standards skyrocketed some months to a year ago, and game updates have broken some things in it. It was great for its time though, but perhaps still not polished enough. It's definitely above the standards of pre-remaster dev quality though. Mondello - has way too many issues caused by the author's inexperience and possibly rushing the mod, as well as a few questionable design choices, to be considered dev quality in my opinion. HOWEVER it is still a really great mod that is 100% worth the money it's sold for, it's a must have for people who like supercars.
Personally wouldn't recommend the Mondello as it's been untouched since release, although atleast it still works
I think the Claria and Signia by @LJ74 are really good and they are developer quality, Gavril Scout and Cherrier Picnic by @LucasBE are also dev quality too, The Gavril Vertex by @Inn0centJok3r is a good one as it includes a variety of configs. There was also some like the DeLorean by @LucasBE and the CSP311 by @LJ74 and the Bugatti Chiron by @Inn0centJok3r are a couple of good ones too. Those mods you listed are way better then Modland and World Of Mods quality meshslaps. --- Post updated --- And I think you forgot to add the Hirochi Mistral and some of the urbanmaid vehicles and even the 2022 Procyon Centauri and the KJLP pack and even the CCF2 (new one is WIP.)
I still would, it was the first paid mod I bought and I still love it. It's fun to drive and enjoyable overall. --- Post updated --- Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Super odd.
Only issue it has is the fact that it has no opening latches (I don't remember if the gear shifter moves, I don't think it does).
Not sure how I would rate the Mistral. It originally was definitely above dev quality since it had openable doors and moving shifter, but then those features got added officially in better ways and it got eventually adapted to them. Since the standards got raised so much it no longer has major outstanding things about it. It's a very good mod but I can't tell if it's dev quality or not. Urbanmaid's mods are always a weird case, every single time he releases a mod there is a lot of work put into it with very high quality and great replication of vanilla content, but at the same time, somehow every single one of these mods has giant issues that are impossible to ignore and I have no idea how Urbanmaid keeps missing them. During his modding career his mods have featured (only from what I remember): breaking the brakes on vanilla cars, breaking the entire vehicle selector twice somehow, having completely wack proportions comparable to someone's first attempt at an Automation car while another car in the same mod pack has correct realistic proportions, wheels exploding when putting the car in reverse, AWD transfercase somehow doubling the torque, mismatched gear ratios, both floating Jbeam not connected to body and meshes without Jbeam, Jbeam in wrong places and sometimes on the wrong side of the car completely, things copied from vanilla cars he forgot to edit, flexbodies mapped to the wrong side of the Jbeam or to the completely wrong group like the sunvisors mapped to the floor, extreme spiking impossible to ignore at least 3 times, nodes clipping with triangles, extremely weak glass, whole car being as fragile as glass, extremely strong glass, physically indestructible roll cage, C pillars so strong that they keep the rough shape after dropping the car from kilometers up in the sky on sun gravity, doors so weak the fall off after hitting speedbumps, stretching windshield on at least 3 separate occasions, engine still working after being ripped off, engine physically impossible to rip off, engine somehow connected to the wheels permanently, parts connected to things where they definitely shouldn't be and usually permanently, extreme stretching of suspension on at least 4 cars, physically unbreakable but easily and infinitely deformable suspension components, somehow including the wrong car in the mod file which was in early modelling stage, forgetting to remove most of the files used to make the mod increasing the file size by a lot... This is only the stuff I remember off the top of my head and it took me half an hour to write. I can't comprehend how someone can possibly miss such huge issues with their own mods, I would understand 1 issue but there are hundreds in total, does he not even use his own mods?????
That's like alot of problems with the Urbanmaid mods, Maybe I think Urbanmaid needs to put more learning to improve or something, I remember that there was another vehicle that was unfinished and its the one with the only chassis, I think it uses the same jbeam from the VRV (older gen) but with the new gen body. I guess it would take alot of learning and practicing to be like the BeamNG.drive big 5 in my opinion which is @LucasBE, @LJ74 and even @Inn0centJok3r @Theo Wilkinson and @Finn Wilkinson
I do sort of have a mixed opinion on his mod, yes clearly he puts tons of effort in, but my main gripes are that the mod is multiple files (why?) and how t6he interiors feel.. off is some aspects; the driving position is sort of odd and the textures aren't the best
His mods feel like average quality to above average. They aren't bad (far from it) but have many problems.
