    Hi,
Most of the time, I really enjoy BeamNG.drive! But sometimes, there are just a few issues, that can really ruin my Evening:
First of all, a little disclaimer:
Some of the issues listed may (or are definitely caused) by Linux (or Software like wine that is required to run BeamNG.drive on Linux)
DO NOT TELL ME TO "JUST USE WINDOWS"!
All my other software works WAYYYY better on Linux, trust me, I've tried it enough times.

    Now, to the real Part:
I'll start with the issues of the standard Steam version:
    • On my Laptop (Acer E5-575G, i5-6200U, GTX 950M) it runs fine (~30-70 fps, very unstable fps though)
    • On my PC (i5-12600k, 6700xt) it just does goes back to the green "Play" button after I press "Start BeamNG.drive" (or whatever it's name in English is) after a few seconds. GE-Proton also doesn't help. Re-installing the game or deleting the prefix also doesn't.
Well, that was rather quick, so let's continue with the Problems I encounter frequently with playing BeamNG.drive with Wine:
    • The Menu UI is laggy/slow (general issue I know is being worked on, THANKS!!!!)
    • On my PC, if I hold too hard against the FFB of my Wheel (G29, using new-lg4ff driver), it resets like if it was replugged (wheel turns completely to the right, then to the left) which leads to unforseeable crashes into random walls right during the best drifts...
    • Performance is basically gambling: On some maps (~60-70% I'd say) the Vulkan renderer performs WAY better, but on the others, it performs WAY worse
Now that this is over, let's continue with the Problems I'm having with the native Linux Client:
    • EXTREMELY unstable (crashes about every 10-30 minutes), mostly when it reaches ~10,7GB VRAM usage or more
      • Interesting Note on that: I "recently" got a "new" (used) Laptop (XMG Neo 15 M21 intel, i7-11800H, RTX 3080 Mobile, 64GB DDR4) on which the native version (contrary to what you might first think of with Linux + Nvidia...) runs perfectly fine. Good Performance and very stable. My guess is that the 16GB of VRAM are just so much that beamng never fills it up completely, unlike the 12GB on my PC's 6700XT.
    • Input is kinda broken: I have my wheel's axis (detected as xaxis), and a Joystick that I'm using as a Handbrake (it's X-Axis is also detected as xaxis). If I now set the steering to the wheel's xaxis, I can somehow still steer with the Joystick's X-Axis. If I reverse these settings, (setting Joystick's X-Axis to steering), I can also still turn with my wheel, even though it isn't even shown in the Settings->Controls UI?

-> This can be fixed by editing a game file, see here: https://www.beamng.com/threads/linux-port-–-feedback-known-issues-and-faq.86422/page-13#post-1559896 (THANKS @snoutie )
    • Interestingly, the resetting issue with the wheel does NOT affect the native Client! (It is also not apparent in other programs)
    • Performance is in general WAY better than with Wine, but it just outright crashes (or hangs) when loading some maps.
Maybe, if you're reading this, you know how to resolve (or help with resolving) some (or one) of these issues. If so, PLEASE tell me!
