Yes, the site unfortunately does not allow to download the mod if you are not authorized on it.
I would have happily used more well known services like patreon or coffee, but they just don't work in my country so I chose boosty. You can rest assured that this site is safe

 

Really, How do you work that out?

I clicked the download link on this BeamNG.com page and the link opens up on another website that locks down the mod until you use one of the provided ways to be granted permission to download mod.

So many people use have used Google Drive, Mega NZ, Dropbox, etc,

None of those lock the download down until the person gives in to unlocking demands just to be able to download the mod,

I even remember when BeamNG devs had to use the Russian mod hosting sites when BeamNG.com was having problems and couldn't be used to make mods available for customers.
