    Spinning death...
Image below does not represent the mayhem. Be better with some motion blur.

5k worth of beams...Not many nodes or triangles...

Lol why does it need so many beams, I'm sure there must be more efficient ways to increase the rigidity than this, such as using rigidifier nodes

lol, I agree with you 200% Its over kill. But it is solid. I must have tried 20 combinations of numbers but just with beam str deform spring damp and weight. I did not mess with the stuff like long form thing or beam types.
These are the basic settings but think the beam count made the difference...
    {"frictionCoef":2.5},
    {"nodeWeight":240.0},
    {"fixed":false},
    {"nodeMaterial":"|NM_cloth"},
    {"collision":true},
    {"selfCollision":true},
    {"beamSpring":10000000,"beamDamp":1020},
    {"beamDeform": "50000000","beamStrength":"10000000","beamPrecompression":1},

I did also use at one time all the settings from the mighty hammer, the multipliers at the top but the quarters sides still wavered back and forth like flimsy tin foil. Or the edge would ding up badly. I thought about you settings for the variable str after words. I still got more coins to make, will try to model them different and test those settings. When I get done will try to have most coins. The thrusters make it move, be pretty dull just having some coins laying on the ground. Not much else to do with them really.

Hey Agent Y, I topped that beam count last night :) 30,000 beams

Car is at the very bottom as the world spun. Eventually spinning to the car and flatten like a pan cake.
I thought I recorded it... Will try to flatten another one. It is kinda cool using a thruster to make it rotate. Too fast it becomes unstable, likely my bad math. Was curious how large a jbeam could be. At some point the sides started to droop and sag like hot wax. No idea why the beams where fine.

50,000 lines in a Jbeam is about the limit. After that it stops writting to the file. 50,000 may be game limit. Making one just shy of 50,000 then spawning another car into scene gives a heap error and crashes. Maybe 16 gigs is not enough ram.
