Doesn't Mad Mike's RX7 have really thin LED lights instead of full lights only peeking out? I always thought it does.

I love this mod, but I have one suggestion, that probably wouldn't be hard to do at all. (I suck at Jbeam and whatever else you do to make mods :p) My suggestion is to just allow the Full Led (night drift) to be put on both headlights. I love the look of it, and would love to see that happen. Thanks :)

Is "sleepy" pop-up headlights really a JDM thing?

The lights are selectable parts in Vehicle Configuration tab. You need to select the 200BX you want, go into the tab. Either find the gear in a square icon in pause menu or press Ctrl + W while in free drive.

Pretty neat, but AFAIK it makes no sense to refer to these as JDM. Don't call things what they aren't. It wouldn't make sense to publish an awesome heavy metal album and call it "The Hottest Trap Bangers".

If I picked up a car parts catalog and wanted to order a kit like this, would it be called JDM?

It does make sense as they were ad still are a lot more used in Japan than anywhere else.
That depends. On some cases, yes.

Yeah, search for it on google images as prepare yourself to be delighted with widebodied drift machines runing these things and looking awesome.
It's been around for a while btw.

Yeah but i don't think i can replicate that in BNG...

I think for now it'll just be confined to JDM.

You mean both in the "Drift Missile" purple?

Yeah, it will need you to create the pop up headlight mesh instead of just altering the position of fully open headlight. Alternatively you can add a little black panel covering the bottom, hidden part of the light and leaving the thin led like strip.

I see that sleepy/lazy pop up headlights is a mod that people do. Hopefully this isn't too pedantic, but as far as I know the term JDM usually applies to parts sold exclusively in the Japanese market. Things which must be purchased as grey-market imports in the USA for example: certain motors, cars, trim pieces, etc. Of course just like "euro-style" parts there are plenty of "JDM-style" parts sold outside of Japan and that's a valid thing - parts that are styled after JDM parts. I just wouldn't call a modification to my car a "JDM" modification or JDM-style either.

The apparently popular "Pivot" controller was available with an English manual "For USA" - http://www.3sx.com/installs/popupco...up-Controller-Instructions-English-pivrhu.pdf

Anyway those are my thoughts. /pedantic

Yes, that's correct but this kind of modification/visual was created in Japan and then it "came" to everywhere else.
Your point is 100% correct, don't get me wrong, but in my eyes, if it's created (or it's first appearance is) in Japan, it's JDM. (damn that rhymed, almost)
