So the game has been out for nearly 1.5 years now, and a lot has changed since the initial release 1.5 years ago. I think it's high time to change the video people see when they first come to the website. The game just looks and rubs much better now, plus I think the original video was kind of lame, with no direction or purpose. That video is one of the first official things people see from beamng, so it should really be updated. That's just my opinion though.
I don't see that as an option, because the official promo would be best to be made by the devs, should not be anyhow edited, copyrighted music better not be there. Gabe's music will do just ok. Yeah, new video, but leave the devs to the actual video making. They know how to promote their game the best after all.
I didn't mean it like that, i meant that nobody outside the dev team should do it, they should know the best. Nothing against Rage.
I dont see a problem with the devs outsourcing for someone to make a promo video. Not that their videos are bad or anything, just outdated. It could even be a collaboration between the devs and a video maker where the devs create a "script" of sorts. Either way, i wouldnt mind seeing the beamng videos updated
I think it should definitely be updated, when I first came to this sit and watched the video my first thought was "wow, this video is pretty outdated". Since it's supposed to be the games trailer it should be a bit more up to date so people have a better idea of the game and it's content.
I suggested that a few months ago, and continue to believe that it's the best option. The devs still get a say in what's shown, but it doesn't cut into their time much, and doesn't cost them anything. Plus, it's a great way to get the community in on it, and demonstrate to prospective customers how important the community is to the game. I don't know that I can concur. I live in an area with dozens of mom and pop shops, and practically no graphic designers. Good businesses, good business practices, good public relations, but bad aesthetics. The devs know the tech, they know their long-term plans. But they don't necessarily know the sell.
I agree. OR Instead of the community working on their own video, how about everyone works on one video, together... it would require a ton of uploading and downloading, but I'd think it would be cool B)
