Is there any way to increase the length of time tire skid marks stay visible on the terrain?

As the title says, Is it possible?

I find it quite fun to watch the route you're trying to nail amass with markings and It's a little disappointing to watch them fade away.

while were at it, is it possible to kind of "allign" the tiremarks in the direction the car is taking?

im asking because i made some custom ones wich turned out pretty nice, but their direction on the ground is fixed in one way...
it only works by drifting in the right/same direction...

if yes, i would love to try makin tire trails for sand, snow etc with a permanent or looping particle emitter and normal maps and all.

i think we took round tire tracks as simple first step. We could look into having them facing the direction of travel later on :)

Do you think the engine can do thing like Spin tire for the sand and mud?

Probably not dig but at least slow down the vehicle and make it hard to drive and all? :)

Sorry for the bump but here's a simple way to make skid marks stick around forever, screen shot shows.

Open editor-select decal editor-select tire skid mark decal-scroll down in inspector window and find "skidmark fade time" and "skid mark life span". Both of these are set at 60000 by default. Set both of these values to "-60000" and save decal.
Has worked for me with no issues. Setting will revert to default with each update.

Do they even keep after map reload? That might be problems after a while. A system to compound all of the tyre marks into larger decals and re apply them on map load might be cool for race circuit maps, too.

The settings keep in all my maps, map reloads and entire program restarts. They will revert to default after a BEAMNG update. Skid marks cannot be saved in a level either, I've had some really epic marked up test areas
and wanted to save it but no dice.

I imagine the devs are thinking about this because one of the great things about racing games is the awesome satisfaction of well implemented and totally realistic skid marks.:D
