Is there a way to stop the hand break automatically releasing when I accelerate?

Hello everyone, I want to know if there is a way to stop the hand break automatically releasing when I accelerate from a stop in a car. Many Thanks.

 

Press the P key instead of the space bar. P is the permanent handbrake, and the space bar is the temporary one.

 

is there no way to make that default?

 

You could switch the key/button maps around and make it so that the button you want makes the permanent handbrake come on.
