Is there a way to prevent over rev risk without increasing the max rpm?

I don´t understand the question: over-rev can be controlled by a rev-limiter, not by increasing max rpm.

When I max out the engine it blows up and thats fine since I can increase the threshold values but it still gets overrev risk and I don’t know how to fix it other than using a rev limiter or increasing maxRPM in the engine jbeam, is there any other way to fix it? maybe there is an undocumented overrev damage threshold value but I don’t know.

Afaik there is only one other variable involved: maxOverRevDamage which determines how long it takes until permanent damage is done. Normal is 1500 (I have no idea what units that is maybe milliseconds?) so I guess be increasing this number you can reach your goal.

Maybe try to make the engine stronger too?
Also, try -1 for the value Leo mentioned, or something really high if that doesn’t work :D

Why do I still get overrev risk after setting maxOverRevDamage to 900000000000000000000000000000000000000 on the scintilla using the nos slot

"maxRPM" in the engine jbeam would like to have a word

I also set my other threshold values to 900000000000000- yk and it did work so I don’t think the number being too big is causing the issue.

Why does turning off thermals in the jbeam still give me overrev risk this is so annoying!

Alright I fixed it by setting the max rpm super high and adding an adjustable rev limiter. Problem solved :). It features in the Small Engine Mod Pack mod I released yesterday.

Edit : it is in the op engine maker mod now that is waiting for approval because i took down the small engine mod pack
