Ipad as throttle/gas pedal

I have an idea of simply putting my ipad on a pillow and pressing it using it as a throttle pedal
I know that the ipad can measure z axis but there are no apps out there that offer a way of using the z axis as an input for games in this case beamng, any alternatives or suggestions?

you might need to develop an app, just not worth it

 

The app exists on android already but theres not much point porting it to iOS

 

i´d rather save up and buy a propper G25 / G27 wheel. It costs alot of money sure, but you will definetly have a better feeling with pedals under your feet, than your iPad..

Also if you are using the ipad, make sure to wash your feet before you do.. otherwise you have quite a smelly iPad

Source code is here, so you could add axis acceleration to it on your own, but iirc the app only allows 1 or 0 throttle, this means you won't be able to adjust the acceleration depending on the rotation of your ipad.

 

I didnt expect that my point in post 3 is invalidated!
