During my brief attempt at some suburban house models, I thought that it would be nice to have instanceable materials. My level design background mostly rests with Unreal Engine 3 and 4, wherein the user can simply drag and drop practically any material into any slot on a single static mesh, without replacing the materials on the other instances of the same object.

Needless to say, Torque 3D will never be the Unreal Engine, for better or for worse. But since there is support for instanced object color, all I'm asking for is the ability to plug that into the diffuse color field of one or more of an object's materials and slots therein, so that the same material and mesh data can be reused with necessary changes in color.

Edit:Sorry, forgot to post this in Ideas and Suggestions. If an admin or mod can move this over, that would be greatly appreciated.
