Released Initial D The Arcade Map Ports Thread

    This thread is for Initial D The Arcade ports.

    Main goal of those ports was to learn porting maps from Unreal Engine to BeamNG. As porting went on I was getting more ideas on how to improve them, and then I decided to port all 14 maps I had.
    Another goal of this port was to achieve an average FPS above 140 FPS on my PC on maxed out game graphics settings while maintaining nice looks of map. Do not expect BeamNG trees there or super high resolution textures. I try to keep those maps as similar to original game as possible.
    Those maps require very low amounts of vram, even 2GB cards will be able to run them on Ultra settings.

    Additionally, I'm recreating some of the UI elements from Initial D Arcade games, I also want to try to add custom missions and water cup mechanics, but those will come in later updates, or as separate mods.

    Features of most maps (where applicable):
    - Full LOD system with instancing and shadow null detail to further improve performance
    - Forest/vegetation animations
    - Full night and weather condition support with dynamic materials
    - Realistic groundmodels
    - Realistic license plates
    - All materials are PBR as in the source game
    - Realistic big map view backdrop
    - Material blending/masks
    - Traffic and parking spots support
    - Optimized textures for BeamNG to make sure performance scales well on slower hardware or integrated graphics cards
    - Quick loading times, around 3-6 seconds
    - Custom guardrails and trees collisions to avoid performance issues and sticky collisions

    Mount Akagi, Gunma Perfecture

    This map starts near Akagisan Tourist Information Centre parking lot and goes for 6 kilometers and ends near Himeyuri Parking Lot.

    Mount Akina, in real life known as Mount Haruna, Gunma Perfecture

    This map starts near Yaseone Pass Bus Stop and goes for almost 8 kilometers and ends near Shibukawa Municipal Tokutomiroka Memorial Literary Hall Parking Lot.

    Mount Akina (Winter variant)

    Turnpike Hakone, Kanagawa Perfecture

    This map starts on Odawara Toll Gate and goes for almost 12 kilometers and ends near Mt.Taikan Observation Deck.

    Happogahara, Tochigi Perfecture

    This map starts on Oshirajinotaki Parking Lot and goes for 6 kilometers and ends at an intersection.

    Irohazaka, Tochigi Perfecture Iroha Isshki

    This map starts next to Eneos Gas Station in Chugushi and goes for 6 kilometers and ends near Umagaeshi Parking Lot.

    Nichien Momiji Line, Tochi Perfecture

    This map starts next to Fujimidai parking lot and goes for about 6 kilometers and ends near Taikooroshi Falls.

    Myogi Line, Gunma Perfecture

    This map starts next to Myogi Park Parking Lot and goes for about 5 kilometers and ends near Bottom Parking.

    This map starts from Shiroishi Pass and goes for about 7.5 kilometers and ends near the center of Shiorishi.

    This map starts from Shori, Kanna and goes for about 7 kilometers and ends near Kamiyoshida, Chichibu.

    It's not impossible that I might port other maps from newer seasons in Initial D The Arcade but for now 14 maps are more than enough, we will see.

    I love doing Touge in beam, so I'm absolutely pumped for this. Raced on Techeyy's Sadamine port today and it'll be exciting to see how much it differs from this one

    Not a request to you specifically, but I'm waiting for the day that someone makes a larger map consisting of interconnected touge roads.

    I just uploaded a fix for collisions on Usui, I shouldn't have hide terrain on that map :p

    These look great. I appreciate the effort regardless, but out of curiosity, what made you decide to duplicate the passes that have already been converted by Techeyy?
    What he was suggesting was to literally just stick the maps together, like Nihonturismo for Assetto Corsa (what I am almost certain he was referring to but forgot to link). That would still take quite a bit of work to stitch together the mountain slopes but nowhere near creating the real-life roads in between.

    I had to update all map zips today. Before uploading I bulk change all maps, and I accidentally applied the wrong shadow settings caused performance issues on maps.
    If someone wants higher performance on maps I recommend redownloading maps, I'm sorry for that, I should have double check what I was uploading ;)

    for some reason i have to click the "Show debug content" checkbox to get the maps (lake akina and mount akagi) to show up

    Hey, awesome maps! Really waited for that release and it was 100% worth the wait :) Do you plan to release initial D style ui tachometer as well? That would be awesome to see combined with these maps.
