I did a little experiment in this game and went to "Space" by using negative Earth gravity. Up there, I had -271℃ brakes and a nonfunctional engine (no air). When I plumeted back to Earth, the car slowed down rapidly while the brakes were warming up and the engine started working again (air is present) Here is a demonstration: Link to video: In the video, the car caught fire randomly in space which doesnt have air and fire can't burn. I think it is a bug and should be fixed (remove fire in "Space"). Second, sounds are crooked up in Space. Actually, you cant hear aything in reality, but in the game, sqeaking sounds when I start the engine and wind sounds are heard. There are many more interesting stuff, please watch the video. I think this is a very detailed simulation of space in a car game, but not detailed enough, for example, the sky is still blue, there is no re-entry burning effects like a space ship, no sonic boom, etc. I hope devs would add “Space” features or modders, pls make a stratosphere map in the sky for testing out ultra cold brakes and thin air environment for less air resistance, less power and less downforce.
It's called BeamNG.Drive for a reason We focus on driving and the respective environments you'll find regular cars, trucks, etc in.
Yeah, space probably isn't too high on their list of priorities. That said, maybe after a while they'll add something up there, or a modder will make it more space-ey.
...some flight games don't even have space more detailed than in beam, and there isn't really any reason most players would even try putting their cars at space height.
