Remember about a month ago when I got my new car? http://www.beamng.com/threads/got-a-new-car-2-days-ago.33606/ Well today, 2100 miles later, I woke up to grab a McDonald's Coffee since my keurig is not working and saw my car looked like this: Well, 1 coffee later and a trip to my girlfriend's house where this happened to investigate, I take my evidence to the nearby PD to file a police report. I take that report to my insurance company and they have me take my car to a collision shop for an estimate. $2050 to repair the damage done, thankfully all covered by insurance. I'm taking it in sometime next week (whenever I get a call) to get it repaired. I'll be provided a rental at no charge from my insurance as well. There are pieces of taillight on the road where I was hit. That, combined with how the dent looks, confirms the fact that I was backed into rather harshly. My GF's dad is going to speak with the neighbors across the street tomorrow to find out more. Their cars are parked inside a garage so I couldn't inspect them for damage and I'm overall not very confrontational so I didn't feel like knocking myself when I was out there at 9am this morning. My state has no-fault insurance anyways so it's their loss if they decide not to report it...
Some people can be terrible! I guess I'm never parking my car in the street again, especially not at my girlfriend's place lol. Whoever hit me was going quite fast and not looking at all. I don't understand how people don't look where they are going. Not only that, but they smashed their tail light too. I bet you they'll report to their insurance that they backed into a random object. Let's hope my police report, evidence, etc will falsify that if someone makes the connection.
just put some duct tape over it aka speed tape (im kidding) That sucks man......i hope they catch who did it.
That's a freaking desert in the background... From my understanding there aren't any deserts in Philly... What gives?
Just don't park in the street and leave your car in the garage. Having a dashcam is also quite useful for things like this. I hope everything is fine. I love the newer Chargers.
a day at most for the repair. they'll replace both passenger doors. if it damaged the pillar for the rear door, a week at most
My girlfriend would drool over the sight of that truck. She's a total redneck (not a bad thing! it's what makes her so awesome) although she prefers Fords. Very nice truck!
Learned my lesson on the first one. I didn't have a choice that night though as my girlfriend and her sister had friends over and we were having a good time, but I will make a much more conscious effort to park in the driveway. I want to get a dashcam (or two, one front one rear) when I can afford one. Sadly in MI it's no-fault so if I didn't have the sort of deal I'm in right now, I'd have to pay/rate-raise even if I was "not at fault" --- Post updated --- She's camera-shy! But she does want to do interesting vlogs with me. We have this idea to play a game together where one of us controls the mouse and the other controls the keyboard (so far it's Overwatch). We're both big gamers but she's only ever played older console games so I'm teaching her how to play, well, at least half the game
