bassically, and it saves money and plus, it adds onto the distracted driving wrecks that claim 9 lives every day
Companies: "Yeah that's fine if it's distracting and dangerous, as long as we save money for ourself!"
no I mean, im adding onto what I quoted, not to mean that the companies just put it in to save money. as he said, it saves time and is easier for manufacturing all models. and looking at a centre display is distracting so its not a good idea
I've never found it too distracting myself. Your eyes should be scanning to road so you should be aware of what's going on around you anyway, rather than staring at the instrument cluster. You generally get the feel of what you're driving anyway; you change gear by pitch, you drive to the conditions etc. The fact it's in the middle should make no difference.
Let's try to stay on topic please. (^.^) Speaking of gauge clusters, I'm definitely keeping the gauges mounted on the drivers side (really only hybrids and stuff have the center-mounted ones in the US), but I did do a little bit of work on the glowmaps and stuff, along with some other small interior things. Now you can, like, actually drive at night and stuff, which is cool.
looks much better, the old glow map was fuzzy....did you get the "2" gear indicator working in the gauge cluster? IIRC that was broken in the initial release.
there was a Vtec mod for the Fiat ono, i think you should add that sound to this car, would be sick af 2.0ltr Vtec engine w sound. very Nom nom
a car this size mostly came with a 2.0 - 2.4L, like the CRV, Rav-4, Original Odyssey, etc. The V6 being optional brings this car into a middle area, not quite full size minivan but larger than a compact CUV.
Yep, the gear indicator should be completely working now. Well, I mean, it's a 90s full-size minivan. It's a bit smaller than modern vans, but bigger than like a Mazda 5 or something. A bit more done on the interior. I'm thinking I'll end up putting the radio below the climate controls, like they did on the first-gen Sienna. The dash-shifter is nice, but it does take up quite a lot of space.
The only things I could suggest is to either make it smaller, movie it closer toward the steering wheel, or a bit of both.
I mean, it's not really a huge issue, I just have to put the radio in a somewhat odd spot. I might still make it slightly smaller though. Ehh, maybe. I don't think it would really fit the stock van, but it would be really cool to like do some kind of LCD digital gauge thing for the custom versions. 。(⌒.⌒。) The dashboard is keeping the driver-side gauges. It's only really hybrids and cheep hatchbacks that have center gauges in the US. Thanks for the suggestion though! (^^) Slightly more interior work. The climate controls are stolen from the Hopper. The thing to the right of the shifter is supposed to be like a flip-out cupholder thing, but I'm going to need to define that a bit more. And then I also need to clean up the poly-flow of course. (≧.≦*)
Interior is looking great! One little suggestion: Rear center cupholder cut-outs. You see these on older and newer minivans, and I think a little details like this give interiors dev-like quality. Before vs After featuring MS Paint.
