I just tried out modding for the first time and I can't seem to get a 3d model of a plane to be visible in-game. I tried replacing the model of an existing airplane just to see what would happen and my 3d model turned out to be invisible. I tried to fix it but I can't find any way to do it so I would appreciate some help on this, thanks.
ok so in you JBeam your flex body needs to be what the oject is called in the file not the file name like if you have exampal: model name is "Cubes" but you want "Cube_3" so your flexbody needs to be the name of the object or "Cube_3"
Well, my model name is "707" and I basically used that name for both the file and model. I also replaced the original airplane name with "707" in all jbeam files.
also you may want to do a simpler mod because Beams aro us absolute trash! But feel free to try. Good luck --- Post updated --- is there more than one object in the DAE file?
is it just the shell because you might want more separated meshes because than you can have more than one part, also try re- exporting the file with a different name like "Model_Main"
I made it so that all meshes are in one mesh, if you get what I mean and yeah, i'm going to try exporting it with a different name.
Making everything one mesh makes the mod a lot less detailed so I don't suggest it if you want customisation.
I'm not really looking for that much customisation since this is my first mod that i'm making and i'm just testing out stuff.
If you want you can look for this I don't know how helpful this is but you can also go the the documentation https://www.beamng.com/threads/flexbodys-wont-work-with-groups.29959/
I am building a bus mod based of the semi and I am trying to keep some of the truck parts https://www.beamng.com/threads/gavril-ct-series-bus-mod.97651/page-3#post-1715757 If you are basin it of a car you should try to keep the interior and stuff because they just add with little extra work. --- Post updated --- did the naming not work?
